I am getting sick of this crap journalism nowadays, they are calling WoW violent, SERIOUSLY???? Hopefully we will never see an EVE mass murder (I mean it, killing people in RL is not funny) but on the other side the probability of getting a EVE mass murder are rare because they just don't have the time:

- to busy fueling POS
- docked due to wardec
- gate camping
- CTA
- on the forums
- looged off and waiting on coms to jumps that noob in a BC
- afk cloaking (you never know)

and most important and time intensive stuff in EVE

- moving stuff (might be personal, but it looks that the only thing I am doing over the last months :)

I hear he also ate a lot of pickles.

Obviously there needs to be an investigation as the cause/effect link is clearly evident.

And I see a LOT of this attitude in EVE. I think everyone knows what I mean.

Sorry if this belongs in 'Out of Pod', but the relevance remains that the narcissism angle does indeed play in to 'certain behaviors' at Fanfest and after. Things CAN and DO go too far.

If i played such a shite game for so long id go crazy and kill a load of people too.

Whether it's Country Music, "The Catcher in the Rye", or "Call of Duty", or 16 hours a day of WoW, the point is OBSESSION is obsession, no matter what the form.

That's what needs to be looked at, not the specific focus of the obsession which the major media does.

Before there was the Internet did people read a lot of books and we did not blame Alfred Hitchcock or Agatha Christie for murders either. People are only searching for answers in hope to find an easy solution to a problem, which I believe is "caused" by an over-growing population. People have always murdered others and with populations growing denser should one expect to see more mass murder than less. There are only two solutions that I can see. Either have a better weapon control or allow for everyone to carry weapons and to defend themselves.
