Was killed by two red flashys in 0.8 and held out in my CNR for a good 5-10 minutes but there was not any Gallente Navy or Concord response.
Am I wrong in thinking that even though they stole from one of my wrecks, started flashing then engaged me, that they can continue to kill me legally?
Location: Vylade Sovereignty: Gallente Federation Security Level: 0.8
Please tell me if this is legal or not. Abit annoyed that i lost 700mil. Have a screen shot to prove it lol

Edited by: Dennmoth Ferdier on 25/01/2009 22:17:09 1. you took something back that they stole
2. they're at war with your corporation
3. you locked on to them and activated a module that can be considered to have a negative impact
4. something to do with militia of which I know absolutely nothing about
If not, then yeah. It's not legal and they hacked the game code and enabled you to be shot on sight without concord attacking.
Seriously though, there's no such thing as illegal in EVE as you should be well aware by now. If it's possible, then it's allowed, excluding a few cases where such mechanics have been unintended. |

In my time playing EvE, I've dabbled with a lot of game mechanic, especially aggro mechanics. If you were killed in high sec and it took 5-10 minutes with CONCORD never coming, it's probably your fault.
Maybe they stole your wreck and you shot one, then he was allowed to shoot you back. Maybe you took something back that he stole, and then his entire corp is allowed to shoot you. There's a couple different things that could have happened, but all of them involve you doing something that permitted them to attack you.
I'm always amazed at how many people can amass the skillpoints and ISK required to fly powerful battleships, but still have absoultely no understanding of basic game mechanics (note that this is not a flame, but an observation).
Anyways, link the screenie, might help. Also, to the poster who mentioned "hacking the game," I've never heard of any instances of hacking into the actual client of EvE. I've heard of people manipulating bugged mechanics and doing things they weren't supposed to, but never of anyone hacking the game itself to any significant impact like flagging another player to them.

Ha ! You are just P.O. because you probably spent more killing him than he dropped.
As cheap as a CNR is these days why would anyone fly a regular raven even if they could not totally t2 fit it.

Well anyone with the slightest intelligence figured that... we just want to know what dumb thing he did and "forgot" to mention in his whine post.
I am thinking he shot at you since your buddy didn't have aggro rights too. I just love how the OP's of these sort tear threads always forget to add that small incriminating bit of info. |

Apart from some of the T1 choices that fit at least seems headed in the right direction. Not sure about the flux coils usefulness though. Anyway the real crime is the use of faction ammo. You can expend several thousand missiles in some of the really big missions, which basically means you're spending your entire mission reward plus part of the loot or salvage just to replace the ammo losses. Best case scenario you're probably spending 1-2 mil to replace your ammo unless you're getting it all from the LP store... which is itself a questionable move when you aren't even using it for PvP. |

this is only a possibility, but what they could have done is gotten their ships in an orca in a safespot or deadspace, gotten in their red blinky pods to jump into the high sec, and if they get into their ships in deadspace and they already have a criminal countdown and concord doesn't see them, they can (i think) engage anyone. Above all, how can you tell if this is part of my post, or my signature?

But two guys couldn't kill a CNR in 0.8 before getting killed by CONCORD regardless of what ships they were using. If the one pilot really didn't even fire, as was said earlier in the thread, then it'd be even more impossible to achieve this. Also if you have a GCC in high sec CONCORD will find you because CONCORD sees everything, even on grids where there are no CONCORD ships.

That fit actually wasn't half bad, although I never ever understood the need to try to permarun an XL booster. Seems unnecessary. A properly fit CNR can burst tank any initial aggro and then breeze thru on passive recharge with proper resists.
And seriously...meta 1 launchers on a CNR? Dude...at least get arbalests.
Congrats on a semi-worthless kill guys. |

If the story about paying the ransom is true, heed the following: You learned the hard way, but never pay a ransom in high sec. There are no pirates in high sec. There are only scammers, and scammers are just trying to extract as much ISK from someone as possible. |
