If I go to a dead space complex in a system like aunia (lvl 1 or 2) am I likely to pick up, say for example, a corelli C MWD or something like that if I wait long enough? Or do I generally have to be at a lvl 3 complex and up to get the goods?

I don't believe there's a chance of any faction loot from level 1 and 2 complexes IIRC. Originally there was supposed to be, but the loot table was broke and was never fixed. At least that's what I've gotten from some guide someone wrote about deadspace.

Some level 1/2 complex do have faction loot.
But they need to be untoucht for looooong time which becomes harder and harder :/.

so if I'm trying to get DS loot I need to find lvl 3 or higher? OK
Also - is it worth probing out DS complexes in hi sec? I was told by a few people in my corp it doesn't yield large returns. Are probing out lvl 3s possible?

Dropping faction loot isn't directly tied to the complex DED level but each individual ships/objects loottable. Most complexes have ships/objects that can drop faction loot.
Coreli C-types are from 1/10 plexes, B-types from 2/10, A-types from 3/10.
Then the same for medium and large modules.
Hi-sec probing will never net you amazing isk/h, running missions or mining veldspar will most likely net you more and more stable isk/h - that said you can get some rare drops and be lucky spiking your isk-influx short-term. Decent for a training ground, crap for a life-long income. Like most pve-activities in highsec should be. |

if you mean static plex's, yes you get the c-type (1/10 plex) gear like mwd,ab,reppers, resistance plates there. Not sure if highsec static plex's drop it but i know lowsec plex's do.
