All things considered equal, which mission would you consider harder AE bonus room or Enemies abound part 5 |

I can do AE bonus room just fine. It's also a mission i do.
Enemies abound is another issue. It's fighting gallente. I'd rather not have faction navies on my tail end if I happen to go to their space; while not thinking. Thusly I cant do enemies abound.
EA 5/5 is a funny thing. If you kill them fast enough... you are fine. If you have to warp away. You're basically screwed because no real team can complete the mission afterwards.
If you dont warp out but you simply dont kill fast enough. Perhaps just not a good enough character? You basically will get overwhelmed.
Compare this to Blockade. They are similar in that they have roughly 4-5 waves. Blockade isnt absolutely nuts because there are triggers for the next wave. EA 5/5 is a timer.
Could I do the mission now given 500mil in a ship, 1bil in implants. Probably I could do it quite well. It's just isolated by gallente. |

Actually, I've done all spawns simultaneously many times. It's my preferred method now, but even back when I was relatively new I did it that way on purpose. All you need is a decent tank and a second ship with four remote reps/shield transfers. You need to not mess up the timing though, the tank won't survive on it's own for long. Maybe 30 seconds or so?
I lost a Domi to EA 5/5 the first time I did it, so my way of "getting revenge" on it was to tank them all at once.
Doing it one wave at a time, it's easier then AE bonus, as long as you have decent dps, i.e. 800+ using something other then lasers. It's not that hard even with less dps, you just have to get distance to their spawnpoints, say 120km off the gate and you're peachy. Armor tankers have it tougher due to the Exp dealing Darkanas of course.

They're both equally easy in a good Drake or NH. Just move a bit and you can survive everything in the room just fine while killing the rats. I'd say they're on par with each other. EA 5/5 simply lasts longer, but other than that no difference.

Edited by: Gul Rashen on 26/01/2009 11:37:41 Damage of the whole stage+all spawns is much more in EA 5/5. The AE Bonus Stage can be tanked perma in a Golem or NH or every other ship with a good tank, thats not possible in EA 5/5. In EA 5/5 you have to sniper or reducing the incoming damage aso.
With the right tactics both are easy. |

Edited by: v00d003 on 26/01/2009 13:05:11 Ok thanks for the replies..I had to ask because I avoided AE bonus room so far, but Enemies abound room 5 was easily completed with my current setup. I was able to kill spawns 1,2,3,and almost 4 before reinforcements arrived. My tank never dipped below 70%. Maybe I'll give it a go this time. OYEAH I know the faction loss to Gallente is not good. Trained diplomacy to lvl 4 to help take the edge off. |

for ea 5/5

678dps with amarr navy multi, HH IIs, and megabeams, for gank, and 2 ex, 1 kin, 1 lar tank. Well, the mission went fine until the second to last spawn. and that was pretty much just because the darkanas were out of multi range, until the next wave spawned.
jump into a nightmare or a paladin with pretty much any skills, and tachyons, and it should go quite smoothly. pretty easy to add another heatsink from the abaddon, and well, between 1 more hs, and the jump up to tachys, more damage, more range, and great mission complete times.

gallente are smelly, you wouldn't have wanted to go to their space anyways.

You can run SoE almost anywhere
Amarr space has a really nice SoE agent, for example.

Guess EVE-agents hasn't updated their agent db then, because the only L4 SoE agents I see in hisec are in either Gallente or Caldari space. Which one are you talking about.

Oops
Sorry, I think my memory has failed me today. I guess you're right, there's only those two, Osmon and Gicodel. The one I remembered was an archives agent in lowsec, must have been thinking of whoring couriers for storylines at the time. |

OK I finally did AE bonus room and it was a complete joke! I read the eve survival guide and it said to move away from the towers and sentry guns to minimize damage. I started to, but realized, I was hardly taking any damage. completed the entire room and my sheilds never dipped below 74% stayed in one spot and picked off everything with ease.Rewards/bounty/salvage was nice.
