Edited by: Coros on 26/01/2009 06:13:59 Edited by: Coros on 26/01/2009 06:12:55 Some of you may of read another scam by me/Garmon a few weeks ago to the extent of a pittyful sum of 3.2 Billion however it was funny.
This scam however I bring you to the effect of ... 23.5 Billion Yes, I know it's not the biggest but I think its sizeable enough to deserve a post
Edit: The actual scam is selling PLEX cards via freeform contract, easy and yet I don't think there was many people doing it (during December I honestly believe I was the only one).
I hear some of you ask "Why the **** would you reveal that, it's a good source of income!!"
Honestly? Vengeance.
A couple of victims have started doing it so I want to cripple the PLEX scam market by bringing it to the attention of as many as possible.
I was once also caught out, check here
All this scam involved was around five minutes of social engineering and a fraudulent freeform contact.
Enjoy guys, victim list will follow in post two.
PS.: I'd like to thank Shigsy for persuading me to keep at it and not revealing it sooner PPS.: This has been dealt with. (*Hugs Lark*) |

Good work man. Very surprising that people fell for it over and over again. Bravo.
Without being rude, I don't think you quite understand the mechanics of freeforms.
I simply created a freeform contract (no item) but autolinked a PLEX card in the description. Put on a courier price, and then failed it after they 'completed', hence me getting the money.
PS. There is a warning that specifically states "YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE ANYTHING FROM THIS CONTRACT", yet people still accept.

Before you open a freeform you are warned the contractor has full control. Freeforms contain NOTHING, they never can contain ANYTHING. They can contain an ISK reward and/or Collateral. The contractor (me) has full control over whether to fail your efforts.
Freeforms are simply a way to document spoken agreements, however the person contracting decides everything, you just fake the description to look like an item exchange. |

I get tired of freeforms since the rate is so low but hey you are doing very well
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
I actually take that as a massive compliment considering you are by _far_ the most consistent Jita local scammer. :)

Your "social engineering" involved heavy caps lock use, terrible spelling and no sense of grammar. I mean, it's awesome on your part but really? Are the Jita locals actually that dumb?
That was a very bad example, I always found caps and pressure worked better on poorly spoken English people. Regardless, it made me enough isk. |

Maybe you're an idiot and narrow-minded, maybe I'm hoping lots of nooblet scammers read this(and they do, since i've had a dozen convos ingame asking for step-by-step instructions) to start doing it, the more people doing it, the less money to be made by the people I don't like :)
