Id like it to feel more desolate and more vast. And it definately has to be more hardcore.
Id like to see local chat removed. Or at least not force broadcast pod pilots on that list.
Id like communication in general to be more limited. Id like it to be centered more around stations. Makes sense too from the roleplaying perspective having stations also act as radio broadcast relay towers :)
Whats your most wanted feature for EVE 2 ? |

Make it carebear country.
Then there is no debate about what a server should look like. |

This.
Also more desolate and wast... what do you think Wormholes will bring? It will add thousands of new systems from what I understand. Also it wont be easy to get in or out from it, which should make it more desolate.
EVE is great because its a generic world, always growing. We dont need EVE 2

There are always rules. It's just a question of who is making them. A carebear server eg: EvE 2 would leave this one to it's original design and let CCP still have the revenues from the people who prefer thngs a little more ... sanitary. |

Edited by: David Grogan on 27/01/2009 11:57:48 better looking pos's make em look more like npc stations with an all in one system.... no need to fly from one bit to another.
basically u buy the shell (control section) and fit modules (corp hangar. refinery, ship fitting/repair, research and manufacturing modules, clone vats, npc agent offices, and insurance office) in it to suit your needs
to distinguish between small, medium, and large, u could limit the size of the storage facility, max useable weapons, and strength of hull/shields/armor
also have an npc controlled pos defense fleet an expensive but possible option lvl1 could be 2 destroyers and 2 cruisers - lvl 2 2 cruisers and 2 bc - lvl 3 1 cruiser and 3 bc - lvl 4 2 bc and 2 bs - lvl 5 4 bs if my message has spelling errors its cos i fail at typing properly :P |

Corporation history and standings shouldnt follow the indivudual pod pilot either. It should be something somehow accessible from various databases. It should require some sort of connections with the NPCs, or even player run corporations who manage these.

Features I want in EVE 2
*Emerge as a hero from a story-driven single-player experience and embark into even greater adventures in the multiplayer part of the game.
*A new multi-point melee system allows the players to swing their weapons where they direct it, in real-time, going head-on against the formulaic nature of online RPG combat.
*Create player-made battle formations, and command both NPC’s and other players in epic multiplayer battles.
*Form guilds in the multiplayer game and lay siege to hostile castles. Let the catapults sing their merry song of death as the enemy is brutally crushed to a pulp.
*Explore Hyboria, the legendary world of Conan, presented in incredible graphics and sound.
...no wait! That would never work. Please just keep making expansions for EVE Online.

I propose Damsels… although I suppose that would still mean the currency would come from a ratting of sorts. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Edited by: Souisa on 27/01/2009 12:12:59 Yes you are right. But since damsels are organic and dont live forever there would be a fair bit of consumption of capital.
IE. damsels in = damsels out maybe that would be the perfect choice :)
But bottomline is the players would have chosen the stuffs, very interesting approach to an MMO economy in the least.

Well... eve 2 - it would be quite hard to implement lots of the changes directly onto the eve right now, but whatever.
* Wormholes / t3 / all that apocrypha fuzz
* Capitals reworked - multiple :doomsday-like: modules for titan depending on its use (siege mod / doomsday / cheaper logistics / directed doomsday), mannable carrier / mothership / titan turrets (with each turret having its own grid / cpu / bonuses / gun-missile slots and small frigate sized ship hangar for the gunner)
* Planetary Colonization - full scale planetary management and customization, industry, military production, research etc + planetary conquest (new ships, orbital bombers, troop transports etc)
* Completely reworked SOV model - now dependant on planets / system control, 5 levels of SOV instead of 4. Cyno jammers usable just in SOV 4 and higher. SOV 5 is region capital and should be even more immune than current SOV 4's
* POSes reworked, requiring just fuel rods and used only for production or stagging areas.
* Fully customizable stations both in a visual way (remember Civilization 1 where you could pimp out your palace one part at a time?) and functional way. Each level of SOV would allow adding more or better facilities to the station while at the same type picking its own specific visual style (black / blue khanid amarr stations anyone?) and ending with SOV 5 Regional Capital station, which will have all the research / manufacture / reprocess etc facilities + hangar large enough to allow motherships to dock
* Destructible stations - when stations gets destroyed, the wreck remains there and people are still able to "salvage" their stuff from the ruins (no hangar pillaging for attackers)
* Mannable turrets on outposts just like on capital ships - quality of the turrets depends on fitting of the outpost
* At some point SOV control allows NPC automatization of some tasks (pos fueling, silo emptying, random "alliance" npcs flying between outposts and planets, regular transports withing the constellation etc)
* Additional leadership skills and addition of ship crew management to affect some attributes of the ship (and blind capital gunnery if you dont have a gunner in the ship)
* Active capital docking so small ships can dock in the ship maintanence hangars in capital ships and "stay" in the capital ship as a gunner or passenger
* More functionality for capitals including repairing for smaller ships, refitting and few manufacturing / research slots
* Reworking of bounty system - ability to sell the target kill rights to bounty hunters and make the bounty reward less exploitable
* Active anti-piracy - Killing negative security status players increases your own sec status

Dude, they'll keep expanding EVE instead of wasting time on an EVE 2. The beauty of a sandbox game - you can expand in all directions rather than just adding some levels and new dungeons.

Well, Eve is the name of the wormhole which brought us here, to this ***** arse verse.
Maybe Eve2 would be the reappearance of the worm hole to take us BACK to the milky way only to find out that humans have evolved into space dwelling aliens and the game is just one big blast-um-up...
Kinda like a zombie game but in space ;) |

EVE is not a sandbox game, it has fundamental rules that defines gameplay. They are just different from other MMOs that EVE might seem like sandbox. But truth is its far from it. Just take a look at the Tier 3 stuffs they are adding. Or the wormholes, which to me just seem like instances and dungeons. No sandbox here. Good examples of how they are expanding on top of the rules they defined when they created EVE 1. |
