I would buy all kind of stuff.
Not my fault your a student/unemployed bum. I got cash to burn and I will. Once I donated 1000Ç to one UO-shard to get all my skills maxed. Why? Because I could!
So bring on micro transactions and I will be happy WoW player! Ohwait, we are talking about EVE here? |

Looks to me like a tie in for the trading card game to be honest. |

I'd like an official statement on this as well. And if this kind of stuff is not limited to fancy character portraits but to actual game advantages, well I guess I know where the exit is. I hate item mall games. |

A good chunk of Iceland's government just got up and walked off the job recently, and their economy is in shambles. CCP has got to think of some way to bring in extra cash.
Maybe directly selling ships and modules is the next evolution in the GTC chain, or maybe it will all be for completely superficial goods which don't actually change the balance of the game, but still bring in a few extra dollars to CCP's coffers.
If the economy comes down to the point where they start to have to lay people off OR sell things for cash to keep the company running, then this isn't such a bad thing. |

What don't people understand about Euro/USD revenue stream? Hell, they are likely making a killing on their rent and services for their Iceland office with the exchange rate. Similarly China, though there it isn't an exchange rate issue - almost everything (in particularly labor) is cheaper in an absolute sense. |

When I read this, for the first time I truly knew fear.
I can only pray that this is various methods of acquiring gametime, such as free eve time by buying the eve fps, etc.
Whenever I see the words "item" and "mall" in the same sentence now, a shudder goes down my spine, and I remember that tiny simple patch note.

Too big a can of worms in a PvP game, if it were done directly. What do they do when that Faction BS someone just paid $50 for gets ganked right out of the gate?
I've believe - or at least hope - that CCP will stay well away from micro-transactions. |
