Ok so Ogre IIs have a max speed of 300m/s. Can anyone tell me what would happen if they were chasing a target doing 375?
Would they have to keep using their MWD to get into range and would this reduce their damage output?

As long as you're ounside their gunsa renge (they have it listed in attributes), you are safe. They will use MWD, but upon reaching the desired distance they will disengage it, and the reengage as you zip away. In any case, their DPS on you will be very low, if you can significantly outrun their non-mwd speed.

They will keep engaging and disengaging mwd, and likely miss you anyway because of how quick you are.

Edited by: Qui Shon on 28/01/2009 12:50:47 They have an orbit speed of 300, not max. They'll go around 1k, 1200 with a nav comp at max, if I remember correctly, and as far as I can tell going slightly above orbit speed does not reduce their damage output, but I haven't made specific tests.
Edit: Seems others know differently, I won't argue since on this issue I relied on my gut, so to speak. Which can always be wrong.

Edited by: Birkinz on 28/01/2009 12:54:46 Am I right in thinking they will not shoot whilst MWDing?
They seem to have an optimal of about 1250, but have a falloff of 4000.
Thanks for your help so far.

Ok thanks, Neena. Im a bit confused though. If they shoot when MWDing, how does it mitigat damage at 375?

Ok just reread 2nd post so I get it now. I still think 375 sounds a bit slow as their range is pretty big - 4KM? But I will be very pleased if you are correct.
Tnx Birk
