Excuse me? Is CCP in some sort of legal battle over the music they used in the eve never fades trailer?
The music has been removed here
The Trailer has been removed by youtube mods here
and... oh god... oh wait, good, it's still up on this site :P *wipes brow* here thankfully
ok so... what the **** is up is this? Is the communities most classic, beloved trailer under attack or what? Some sort of "were looking into" comment from CCP would be nice... you know, so I can sleep tonight:( |

I don't like YouTube much anyway - why stream when you can DL it once and never have to deal with the internets when you want to watch it ever again?
Though, I agree, that's EvE's best trailer (in my opinion). Would suck if it wasn't available anymore.
EDIT: After reading through some of the comments on YouTube it seems the link in question is a modified trailer that had different music, in which case it would be an actual violation.
I'm still of the opinion YouTube sucks though. |

Video is also unavailable under the CCP YouTube page. This is, in fact, interesting. However, I do believe from what I've read a long time ago that CCP had permission to use that track commercially. |

This has been going on for atleast a week, more even.
Basically random videos with uncopyrighted music get muted... heck I've found funny videos turned totally worthless all because a 4 second smidge of a song, resulting in a 6 or more minute mimefest, which is obviously much less entertaining.
Sadly, it'll only get worse :/ so it isn't just eve, or its trailer. |

If CCP has the rights to use the music for the trailer (which of course they were smart enough to acquire, right?) then this sounds like abuse of the copyright takedown notice system on the part of Warner. |

Ditto to that; the last time I checked CCP licensed the song. Clearly this shouldn't be getting blocked, Warner would seem to be committing an unintentional act of DMCA fraud (I say unintentional because this is undoubtedly automated). |

Or it could be that CCP didn't respond to the email that youtube sends that allows you to prove said rights.
I posted up a video with a music soundtrack that I didn't have rights for and received an email from youtube stating that I could contest the rights or abide by the ruling of the rights owner. The choices in my case were to have the video withdrawn or accept the music owners right to advertise on the youtube page and for the music owner receive the advertising revenue from that page, which I accepted. |

are you stupid? Warner call copyright on a video, that means they are saying it's illegal to have it here on this site.
your not very bright are you?
also they have only been taking down audio on youtube. Now seeing as the official CCP page on youtube took the video down completely, this means that Warner has contacted CCP and asked for them to remove it. Which means CCP took it down just for now to battle for the right to show their video. If they can't show it on youtube, they can't use the music in the TV commercial they just released.
oh wait your like 15 and in still in highschool I must be expecting too much

Youtube has been going through tons of videos that contain music and removing audio from them, it's old news now.
I would suggest CCP get on Youtube's ass though since they have commercial rights to use the song. |

YOUTUBE isn't doing anything unless someone asks them to. Major labels and studios are issuing blanket cease and desists for a ton of different content, and YouTube takes action based on that.
That being said, YouTube has probably zero clue that CCP might even be authorized to use the track for that video, they're erring on the side of caution for their own ass's sake. Warner certainly isn't going to give a huge list of licensed exceptions to every single item on their list of takedowns.
