So how many of you all have lost a ship due to your cat running across your keyboard and causing bad things to happen like decloaking and stuff? Also, what did you lose?

But no I haven't experienced this. Pets aren't allowed at my apartment, and when I'm at my parents' house my computer is in my bedroom, where I don't let the cat into (because she pees on clothes.)

My cat used to help me play Counterstrike.
He didn't tend to run across the keyboard, exactly.... he seemed to view it more as a comfy place to lie down than a convenient walkway.

Mine loves to watch the ship warp. Sometimes he paws at it, which is probably fantastic for my 30" ACD LCD screens.

Haven't lost any ships coz of my cat. But I have had some settings screwed up. On one account my keyboard layout is still wrong after the damn cat stepped on my keyboard. Can't figure out how to get it back. It's set to US keyboard layout now.

My mom had a black cat that died about 3-4 years ago. He used to come into my room and walk on the keyboard or block the monitor when he wanted attention. One day I had left the computer on with the Flying Through Space screensaver running. Cat took one look at the monitor, got a look a pure terror, and ran out of the room at full speed as if a he were being chased. Ever since then he would always stop at the door if he wanted my attention.
Worth a try if a cat keeps getting in the way.

Hitting alt+left shift usually solves it for me. |

My cat logged me out of Eve once during a fight. Consequently I learned that cats do not in fact have the hidden capability for flight.

I walk out of the room to get a drink.
Come back in room and find me undocked and in pod with some station campers demanding ransom.
The cat just laid there on the keyboard...

LOL, yup, was filling out a sell order, the kitten, walked across the KB, added some numbers and completed the execution. The broker fee cost me 65M at like .33%. Canceled the order but was still out the ISK. Luckily, I was able to petition and get it back.

I didn't lose my ship but she turned off the computer while I was running at the head of the pack in the ISGC assault frigate race.It cost me first place(down to 7th) by the time I got logged back in.
Since that incident I don't let her in the office unless I'm doing something less important(like mining or shopping for gear).

I used to have that problem but I stuck a citrus scented air freshener near the computer desk, he avoids that area now.
(yes, cats really do not like citrus scents)

My gf and I had a housecat, one of those that never goes outside (her idea, not mine). I was playing a particularly difficult level of Splinter Cell on Xbox when it decided to jump up on the TV table and sit in front of the telly. This was just as I was getting to the end of the level after what seemed like 30 million tries. Shot by enemy I was luring into a trap and back to last checkpoint... again.
The girlfriend never did figure out how the cat managed to get out of the window but it never came back. My only regret is that we lived in a ground floor flat, it would have been interesting to know if a cat can still land on its feet from three floors up

Yes. Cats will sleep up to 18 hours a day. While humans will sleep 1/3d of their life away cats spend 66% to 70% of theirs asleep. My cats, however, will probably only sleep around 50% because I'm constantly waking them up by rolling them on their backs and rubbing my face on their tummies, which is full of win.
Back on topic, none of my cats have done this to me yet. They've all learned from an early age not to touch the keyboard from an incident involving mouse traps.  They will attack drones and other objects that fly around on my screen, however.

Answer is Yes  . We has a stray tom start hanging around. big old moggy he was too. One day he decided it was time to explore inside and wandered upstairs. He got spooked when i came upstairs and jumped out of the top window. He landed fine and wandered off. I miss him.
On topic. Our 2 cats will wander around on the desk, but always get deflected if they get too close to the keyboard.
