How shocked was I when I heard that my Thorax's drone bay will maybe be cut in half; try plucking one wing off a bee, and see if it flies! 
Really, my Thorax is a sight to behold with 8 Ogre I and a very tactical anti-frig weapon when hunting in group, which seems to follow CCP's idea of making EVE more strateggy oriented.
I think it would really be a shame to cut the Thorax to 1000m3, as drones are the Gallente's weapon of choice, and that their best cruiser ought to have lots of drones.
In addition, I would ask CCP to stop tuning down the better ship to accomodate less fortunate pilots. Sure the idea of balanced combat is good, but instead, give frigates and cruisers advantages agains't bigger ships and not the other way around! 
I wouldn't like, once I get my first BS, to look like a blindfolded giant trying to take out a fly with a bazooka! 
Please, if you do not want your Thorax to be droneless, say :

OK Take a look at the Vexor, it is going to 1800m/s, tahts one drone less or something, use taht if you want a carrier.
Thorax is the most damaging cruiser with or without drones, quit *****ing already and get a vexor!

"Changing drone volumes and drone bays won't go into next patch, testing changes in that area will maybe happen later."
So I don't think you need to worry, your rax isn't going to get its drone bay changed while heavy drones are still 250 cubic meters.

while I don't 100% disagree with that change, (knee jerk I did, but now I don't) with the drone changes that are being worked on now, its really kinda moot, since the whole drone system will be different.

Even with Drone Changes and Drone Bay Changes...people will still not be able to carry 8 Ogres (or Heavies)....but they will be able to carry UBER amounts for Lights and 36 HammerHeads (i think it was)...

I use my rax to run missions, i dont even use guns, to conserve ammo, i can also do the missions with guns only and no drones, its a great ship, but gallente being the drone race, i would actually prefer to be using 8 drones than the ship bonuses like 5% more dmg, so why not take that away?

Don't you see the problem with this statement? The problem is that there IS a BEST CRUISER. CCP believes that there should NOT be a best cruiser, and thus the nerf and other cruiser changes. You still have 5 turret slots. Put some rails or blasters on it and you have a very powerful ship even without the drone bay. Add some drones, even after the nerf in size, and you're still sittin' pretty.

god damn a real thorax pilot only uses his drones when he needs the extra damage or if he needs to keep frigs at bay and use hammerheads they work nicly. the thorax's strenght is not its drones but it's blasters. ******* a get some balls and stop hiding behind your drones.

Death by fire you should never ever be allowed to talk again.... and anyways I remember killing moa spawns way back pre castor in 0.0 using only my drones, and reserving all my grid and energy to just run a constant tank, the 8 heavies are amazing, and with the 5 turrets the thorax is incredibly powerful, I just wish they would find some other way of nerfing it down other than just taking away what its "primary role" is as a drone carrier.

Thorax still has one of the biggest drone bays for a cruiser :/ Moa can only carry 1 heavy drone :P count ureselfs lucky :D

You guys keep forgetting that drones will take less drone bay space as well after retuning. Its possible that a Thorax will be able to hold 8 heavys, perhaps even more.. with its 1k drone space after the nerf.. or am i wrong in this ?

dont be suprised if drones come in packs or something when they do the changes, they dont want all the friggies to carry heavy so for example a pack of drones that takes up 250m3 actually has 4 heavys in it but you can onyl use one at a time from that group etc

I think people who support keeping the drone bays are right. Soon I'm gonna be using my thorax too, and I think the main weapon on the Thorax is its heavy drone payload. Especially when you've only got 5 turrets only for lasers/rails, no missile launchers at all, so it effectively takes away the strongest/longest range type of weapon in my opinion... so I say Nay Nay to even thinking about taking the drones away, much less postponing it! Don't even think it!!

Either way, I'm glad these changes are being reconsidered now, so some propre testing can be done.

Actually, CCP should work on different 3d model of interceptor at the place of taking the old stupid frig model and changing some stupid Fix by doing this ****, nerfing the drone bay. I'm tired of seeing more than a thousand of scorpion hanging around the ******* gate. They should work on getting plennty of new ships at the place of killing the ones existing at the moment
