Are Mac owners more likely to be left-winged politically?
I just noticed it during class when everyone brought in their macs, the self identified left wing had all macs while the conservitives had all PC's.
anyone ideas? i think it be intresting to see.
It wouldnt be too far fetched either. Macs aim at a certian demographic and that demographic may be more prone to being a certian political affiliation.
could be intresting to see. so i figure, everyone who post put what OS they prefer to use and what side politically they tend to be. please keep it to "left" "right" "middle" "neither"
and please stay polite, i notice people tend to get rude and hostile when asked about polotics. I havent figure out why.

Edited by: Karrade Krise on 29/01/2009 23:19:13 Mac owners couldn't possibly be political in any way. The political system is just too complicated for them.
Sorry, I don't think Political Views have an "EZ Mode."

Allow me to break your nice little theory: I'm very liberal politically, but I use windows for everything (though I'd swap to linux or mac if they would run all of the stuff I use, just because Microsoft is so much of a pain to deal with), just like a lot of other very liberal people I know.
Hm, though maybe you're on to something... mac owners tend to be people who actually care about their computers, since your average "just give me something I can read my email with" type just buys the generic cheap windows PC from walmart. People who care about their computers tend to be more educated, and there's a definite correlation between education/intelligence and liberal politics (though perhaps it's more of a negative correlation between intelligence and conservative politics). -----------

Edited by: Last Wolf on 29/01/2009 23:49:17 Politics are dumb.
Left-wings are Communists Right-wings are Tyrants (not in the "evil" kinda way, but in the "you'll do this MY way" controlling kinda way)
I'm definitely in the "middle" If I picked and poked through every ideal behind each side, I'd probably lean a little to the right though.
Ninja edit: I use a PC. Mainly because I play games and there are next to none that support mac/linux. I would use Linux if I didn't have to mess with that pita WINE to run my games at 1/2 the frame rate Windows does.
If It makes any difference I did my own research and bought all the parts off of Newegg.com and built this PC myself. |

There's totally an EZ mode for political views. It's called "Change."
Also, I believe in true democracy. Call me a Marxist, if you like. It angers me, though, how throughout the Cold War the US government propaganda machine incorrectly called the Vietnamese, North Koreans, and Russians "Communists." There's a big difference between actual communism and dictatorships. |

Their political self-identity does not matter. All are as likely as another to feel they are owed something. |

Mac users also tend to belong to the younger generations. Younger generations tend to be more liberal. Older generations remember macs as these one-click mouse abominations that they have to put in extra effort into figuring out how to use. They also tend to be more conservative. And conservatives are less likely to try out something new and just stick with what they know best.

I've been told I'm liberal, sorta. But I use a pc. Mac's are ok...but well, you know.
So...no?
I guess.
I do know someone who is: homosexual, has a mac, and is rather conservative. He also annoys the hell out of me, but that's for entirely different reasons. ----------------------------------------------- shin ku myo u

I am VERY pro-PC
maybe that is why I think that one of the best possible governments is a totalitarian one.
If the guy who leads the nation does things right it has the most potential to become a successful and stable nation.
Imagine having a united government, one that has no conflict, and can respond to a crises in a matter of seconds instead of spending a day to vote it out.
Imagine no more corruption, because the leaders personal gain is only in the gain of his county.
The only reason why I would say not to do this is because there are too many stupid people come to power, and once a stupid person comes to power in a totalitarian government, then hell breaks loose. ------------------------------------- My other alt is a Ferrari |
