I've killed so many hundreds of miners.... they kind of all blend together in a faceless, crying mass.
But when I spotted six 2003 characters haplessly mining Ice in Brapalille, my ganker sense tingled.
Five Mackinaws with Orca support, faction fit, yet still badly fit, EXP hole. All easily within Smartbomb range.
Buck Futz (Suddenly Violence) is blessed with maxed-out Smartbomb skills, so I called him in for this one and provided a fully fit Discophoon. With only one Phoon in an 0.7 system - I figured it would be close, but that 'ragged' 4th heavy cap-boosted SB volley would do the trick.
So, prespawned Concord safely off-grid, then provided Buck a good tight cloaked warp-in.
Result?
A fantastic, 11+ Billion ISK mess in 22.5 seconds flat.

-he participated in the beta testing and started some of his chars on day 1.
-3 of them had never been podded before, because he spends 90% of his time in highsec.
-doesn't like blowing things up 'because he knows how much work it takes to make things'
-didn't know about killboards.
-did not understand 'how a -10 pilot could attack him' in highsec! (lol)
-No tears, other than a 'confused, how/why did you do that' sentiment....but I didn't expect them. Anyone who has played since 2003 has both ample ISK reserves and a sense of perspective about getting ganked.)
Kind of amazing how people can play this game for nearly a decade - and still not understand how it works.
But when you spend it all running LVL 4's, manufacturing and ice mining - I suppose it limits your exposure.
Maybe not as cool as TEARS killing Chribba,
but killing over 11B in assets for a single 80M ISK Typhoon....? Money well spent.
Oh wait, with the drops and T2 salvage, its was actually kind of profitable. My mistake.
Carebears beware!

No, this guy has been playing since the beginning. Check the SP counts I posted in the links.
And yes, I've found that older carebears CAN be that ignorant of how EVE works. Granted, it is a big game - but MY failure to understand PI or nullsec politics doesn't get me ganked.

But, really, this is the kind of stuff that makes ganking worthwhile.
I burned out a bit, took a short break.
Just got back into the swing of things - posted 100 Exhumer/pod kills in the last two days, and counting.
Really, no point in arguing about gank nerfs. Carebears just try to claim 'ganker tears' anyway.
Far better to just to experiment, practice, and keep your ganking tricks secret.....especially from the Devs/GMs.
Then start raping carebears on an industrial scale!
Let the KB's do the talking.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like carebearing, I don't do it myself. But if there will be more people like Herr Wilkus, killing legimate miners (botter - need to be killed, if you find them, tell me i will come kill them myself), where all of the shipbuilders get their material. The whole EvE community might come to a point where nobody mines helpless asteroids in high sec. Right then we will see all the gankers go carebear frenzy (doing missions, running incursions, ratting, plexing and mining) just to afford their 100mil Thrasher.

TBH, the bots probably didn't care. But they are rapidly disappearing (kudos to CCP on that one) - leaving behind only 'real' miners in the belts....and killing real miners is FAR more entertaining than harvesting bots for Salvage.
I think its highly unlikely that EVE's economy will be reduced to 'everybody broke and mining' like in 2003.
