Ok. So you've got your snazzy Warp Disruptor II blueprints all ready to go. 10 of em. Just ready to whiz through the assembly array.
Then you look, and the time to do 10 runs. 1 day 7 hours. Well, crap. That makes is pretty hard to keep your lines saturated properly.
- You could use the queue and queue up 15 runs over 2 bpc's x 5 lines. This adds up to very close to 2 solid days. Ok, great. This makes it easy to keep 5 lines saturated. But it takes all 10 slots. So you're only churning out 75 units every 2 days.
- You could queue up 8 runs x 10 lines every day. This keeps this very close to 1 solid day of production. And you're cranking 80 units every day. Far better than above. But you end up with lots of 2 run bpc's that are next to useless since you'll never be able to crank them off without breaking your pipeline and crushing your cool 80 units/day throughput. You could just throw them out, but that 20% off-the-top loss kind of dents all the profit calculations.
- You could run 5 runs x 10 lines every day. You don't keep your lines saturated, but you -do- produce 100 units every 2 days with no bpc wastage. This also slows down the rate at which you go through bpc's, easing the copy/invention load a bit.
Either way it kind of sucks. You either have to have a huge drop in throughput, or you have to get up in the middle of the night to restart your lines.
How do you guys deal with this? Is there any brilliant solution here I'm not thinking of? |

basically, you need to be able to log in more than once a day to deal with build issues like this. That is the only way I've dealt with it.

You don't say which type of mfg lines belong to that build time. If it pertains to NPC factory build times, then you have 2 options if you were to use a pos with manufacturing lines -- the rapid equipment assembly array with a .65 time multiplier and a 1.2x material multiplier (purchase cost is 5 lines for 9 mil), or the equipment assembly array with .75 time multiplier and 1.0x material multiplier (purchase cost is 6 lines for 54 mil i think). |

I'm talking POS arrays. You'd be better off manufacturing sand than running T2 in a station factory :) |

It's a tradeoff between maximum output and your readiness to log in as soon as the jobs are done. In the long run, I would advise having comfortable work schedule, or you will get burned out eventually.
Alternatively, choose another module, where production time is more suitable for your playing schedule. |

Well you could, y'know, not manufacture in batches of ten. A 7-run job would come in in a bit under 24hrs, and you could run the last 3 jobs on weekends or whenever you have the time. |
