Right. Now I know there's about ten squillion ideas about ship setups in here somewhere, but this one's different (or I've not found the same idea yet, and have looked in all the wrong places. Which has happened before. however, I digress.).
This idea centres around cargo containers, and a modification of, rather than scripts, or adding a unique item.
The idea works thusly:
- Buy a small cargo container.
- Assemble the container
- Into it, place your preferred ship fittings
- Close the item window
- Right click on the small cargo container and on the context menu, click "Enable ship-fit"
- This adds "Fit To Ship" to the context menu of your small cargo container
- Name small cargo container accordingly
Then, when you want to fit your ship, you simply right-click and select "Fit To Ship".
N.B. doesn't have to be a small cargo container. Must have only setups in the container. If the setup doesn't match the ship's slots, the ship-fit fails.
The order of ship fit cannot be modified, it simply lobs the fittings on in a first-come-first-served manner.
I think this will probably be the simplest way, without changing the Eve client much. Whaddya think? |

Has been suggested multiple times over the years. Either as using existing containers or new fittings containers. Something in this area is needed to swap ship rolls and or hauling no rigged ships about.
I personally prefer having a stored ships template and they can apply to ship and if you have the mod in the station it fits the ship. This way you can buy multiple sets of mods and ships, then you get killed you can just select the next followed by apply configure template and get back into battle. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

This is already in game. Put modules in cargo container, select all then fit to active ship. ------------------------------------

One thing i can say about containers: miners need BIG anchorable container with password-protection. My offer: create one which occupied 1-2k cargo, when unpacked or launched in space can contain 10-20k, but can't be repacaged or moved into cargo while something inwardly.

Just get an alt like everyone else and specialize them in the Orca. Epic win because you get a huge cargo can that you can access without using a jet can and you also get mining bonuses if you use the links. Otherwise join a corp or make a friend and have them haul then split your earnings. |

I must say a 2 containers are needed 10k and 20k unsecured none plank field containers to make it easier to organize pickups and delivers within the corp or better yet secured but undeployable.

i'm talking about solo mining or mining in small(2-3 barges) group. orca is absolutely useless in this situation |

In a hulk you can comfortably mine in 0.5 and infact can setup a hulk yo tank BS rats in 0.0. So why is there a can needed to encourage people to mine in 0.6-0.5.

Quite the opposite is true. An Orca was designed for group mining, even small ones. You can run 3 links at the same time and get some good bonuses. Miners don't have to jettison ore and instead directly transfer it to the corp hangars.
Quote:
i'd prefer to make using of that cantainers is SS>0.6 was impossible to force miners move from 1.0 to more dangerous systems.
We are stuck with miners in high-sec due to the nature of being risk-free. Having large cans in lower-sec won't make them move, unless they aren't willing to pay for an alt. |
