I see a word that suggests this is an acceptable place to ask, IMO
Now, if only I knew the answer. |

Here, I'll translate the OP into a more appropriate topic for MD:

Okay.. I have seen a lot of titans that have been FOR SALE lately actually sell? Is BOB or Goons or any of the other alliances kicking all the other alliances buts? Are goons really as good as they say? Is BoB really good as they say?
I said the words FOR SALE so this must be a MD topic. |

Someone in the capital market is selling off excess inventory.
You'll notice there has been a small decrease in the number of capital parts copies floating on contract as well meaning someone has shut down production out there. |

Motherships are coffins.
You buy one, fit it out, sit in it constantly and are unable to fly any other ship whilst you own it. You sit in POS's all day because no FC wants to use them because they're glorified and overly expensive carriers that die all too easily against the number of dreads being fielded nowadays.
So you sit in your coffin, waiting and hoping for some action one day. Then you either get blown up or you sell it. Either way, you don't buy another one.
RZR alone has more than a few members wishing to be rid of their moms because they're just horrible. |

You are totally wrong imho.
He just wanted to know if there is a nerf comming that has influence on MOM trading.
The worst thing to happen to MD is all these whiners talking about things wrong with MD because it's at the top. Come'on, swallow those comments and put them where they belong, at the idea's forum or something and not here. You are only starting discussions which are totally off-topic. |

Cleaned.
Off-topic posts removed, if you believe a thread needs moving please use the "report" function above every post.
This thread could be in a couple of sub forums, as there is the potential for discussing the market for motherships it will remain here for now. |

they might see some use soon in Wormhole space in a Wspace, use them to quickly pop wormholes to help you keep a given wormhole in your teritory, and if nothnig else you can melt a mothership for the minerals in it to supply your efforts in Wspace
hmm need to break down the hauling ratioes of the various ships

How so, you cannot cyno into a wormhole system. Not in nor out.
And the way the gate mechanics are going to work described so far makes it seem like small ships will be encouraged as small mass budgets will be the norm on most entry points.
I think you'll see the Orca end up being the king of logistics for wormhole parties. |

1. sovereignty 4 gives you 65days of supercap printing. Your tower becomes invuln.
More are being built then there are being destroyed.

Afaik it's BoB mainly who is selling. They have figured out that it's more economical to give 2 toons, 1 dread and 1 carrier each. For the same pricetag. Getting much more efficiency out of the system.

Mostly due to orca afaik.

You can alt park them.

capships wont be making their way to wormspace. Im sure some people will... but it'll be very rare.
The new rats change targets based on the largest threat. Meaning fighters get primaried; you cant clone vat into the areas.
So I really dont see a use for a carrier/mom in any way. Titans most likely will be too large. Leaving dreads... but really? I dont think so. ------------------------ To make a megathron from scratch, you must first invent the eve universe. ------------------------ Life sucks and then you get podded. |

There are a couple major alliances that have had build dates finishing around now, this combined with individual owners wishing to sell theirs (for whatever reason) has really been making it a buyer's market.

Does this mean that BoB is running low on resources due to the war, and is likely to start dumping other inventory, such as dyspro or titans?

Or that BoB members start to realise Motherships are to expensive to lose compared with the added firepower they provide in a battle. Better to use a Carrier that is ten times cheaper, or Dreadnaughts for pure siege work.
One Mothership pilot with a Mothership, if sold, can pay for a specialised Dreadnaught Pilot + Ship and Carrier Pilot + Ship. Since a lot of BoB members with Capital Ship pilots can run two accounts at a time, it is more efficient to have one Carrier and one Dreadnaught available for the price of one Mothership. Also, the rate at which BoB loses supercapital ships like Motherships and especially Titans is not really sustainable, therefore they switch to cheaper but nonetheless lethal alternatives. That is probably why you see that many Motherships for sale.
