There is probably a very simple answer. I'm a bit of a newbie as I have only had this game for a few days. I have just brought a light ion blaster and then went on to buy 1000 ion charge l's, which i thought sounded like a sensible figure (?). Basically i can fit the weapon to my ship but i have no idea how to load the ammo. |

In the fitting screen drag the ammo over the gun and let go. It will reload by itself when in space or you can right click on it and reload manually if you want to.

Also: I can't tell if you bought "iron charges" thinking it said "ion", but as a general rule of thumb you should use antimatter in blasters.
Antimatter has the highest damage, but lowest range, which is what hybrid guns are all about.

Did you do the tutorials? I would have a very hard time believing that "how to load ammo" is not covered in the tutorials.
There are many games where you can skim or skip the tutorials. EVE is not among this group.
In space, you can right click the turret and have options about loading and choosing other ammo types that are in your cargo bay (be sure to load ammo in your cargo bay before undocking).
On second thought, do not undock. If you don't know how to load ammo, then you certainly do not know how to use your overview. This game is too fun and too complex for you to undock with such basic knowledge lacking. Really consider doing all the tutorials before you do anything else, and also consider joining a good corporation dedicated to training.

When I last did the tutorial, it didn't have anything about loading ammo. But that was years ago, so hopefully things have changed. Probably not though. |

Also learn to press CTR: + R alot wich reloads all weapons.
