Familiarity with each others strengths and weaknesses is the only thing the militias don't share with the player alliances, pretty much everything is equal..
The Militia teams have a massive pool of very high skill-point players to pick their teams from, their major draw back is that they have not flown together for months on end.
Please also remember that the prep period for the militias was extremely short. I am guessing that most alliances, in antipation of getting in, have been training on one level or another for a long time.
PS: The proper names are as follows; Caldari - State Protectorate Gallente - Federal Defense Union Amarr - 24th Imperial Crusade Minmatar - Tribal Liberation Force

True, Militia had less time to prepare.
Though slackasses like us, didn't bother prepping, picking a team or even ship types until a week before. :) |

Nobody starts training much more than a week out. We all talk about it for months, but actually getting people together for proper practise seems to only happen when it's almost too late.
The militia teams are not disadvantaged compared to any other random alliance.

You all still have a lot more timer flying together under your belts, not to mention time flying with FCs.
The fact that you all slacked off instead of prepare for the 'l33t' tournament just speaks against the alliances .. 0.0 makes you fat and lazy, FW makes you lean and ... well poor :)

as Captain of the Gallente team.. I don't need any excuses. We got beat, we brought a REAL nice setup, but what can I say we got it in the backside BIG TIME.
I was part of the TRI team from last year and what hoping to emulate that. Some have high SP, some don't but thats the same for any alliance.
I was hoping to show 0.0 alliances that Factional Warfare is not a joke for PvP. But I guess that will have to wait.
To the Gallente Militia, my heart is breaking. Real sorry I let you guys down. But we thought we had a good anti Ishtar, anti Speed and anti BS. But Blade played well and can't argue with the result.
However NOW I CAN GET BACK TO GETTING MY EPEEN OUT ON THE KILLBOARDS...

Haha, I'm poor and live in 0.0. For us it was more a case of the absolute crazyness that is Curse at the moment.
"Get in fleet, now huge enemy gang spotted", "Don't we have a tourney meeting", "we will have it later".
Then I think we had an enemy pos leaving reinforced at the rescheduled time. Sigh...
Worked out pretty well in the end.

While I can't speak for every alliance, I'd say this is how it works. Normal alliance operations, defending space and such take priority.

I know this was the case for us. We had all but our team members in a fleet during the match, and were only getting play-by-play through our alliance channel instead of listening live. Tournament stuff definitely comes after everything else. |

Completely agree with EVIL there, we don't want any excusses, we fielded a nice setup and unfortunatly for us it was against a setup that was just too strong. Thems the breaks in a tournament like this, no use *****ing and moaning about it, we'll be back next year!
I would like to offer my heart felt congrats to BLADE. who really pulled it out of the bag and performed excellently, lets hope they go far in the competition!
And to my fellow Gallente FDU team members, the sheer amount of work, time and passion EVIL SYNNS, TROPIC9 and the rest of the team put into this tournement is a testament to the skill and dedication that is in abundance in FW. Its been an honour guys!
NEXT YEAR!

Can't wait to have you back in the pipe! :) As a Gallente citizen I still feel proud, you put an effort to do plexes before to get into it although I know you hate them, you showed up with nice setups and fought well, nothing that can be considered as "letting us down".
Moreover I don't know much about those points in tournament, but it looks like most of the teams have W/L like 1/1 and you sound like you knew you are not in the next round, isn't there any chance that we will see you in it? |

No offense, even if gallente had won... it still wouldn't prove the factional teams can have any pvp skill.
You forget, alliance tournament is fake and nowhere near real pvp. Winning the alliance tourny proves you can play rock paper scissors and win with non-conventional setups in a fake environment.
