After reading a lot of posts regarding salvage "theft" I decided I wanted in on the action, so following our Ninja friends I outfitted a small fast frigate.
I had my alt do some probing and wasn't long before.... bingo! Toodling over in the frigate our mission runner was busily shooting away and I started to salvage.
It wasn't long before I had the obligatory rant convo Unfortunatley for me I was short on time (had to take the slapper indoors out for dinner ) so I decided to try something new.... Well it was new for me anyway....
I "ransomed" the wrecks for 5 mil. In return for the money I would go away and leave him to salvage. It worked. Profit. And I wasn't even late for dinner
I guess it's not exactly fool proof in the sense there is no guarantee that I wouldn't have salvaged them anyway, but that would be "bad for business".
So next time, if you're short on time OR can't be arsed to ninja salvage it all then try..... NINJA RANSOMING!

It worked, to be sure, but...don't you feel a little dirty for doing so? I mean, you're ransoming at the very bottom of the EVE food chain. Salvage = garbage floating around the joint. You're demanding money with menaces to let a guy pick that rubbish up...!
Just a thought, hugs and kisses from the Captain --------------------------------------------

Well kinda, but I like the fact he paid to clear up floating crap that he shot in the first place. It also saved me 10 minutes of ninja salvaging.
If they really see them as "their" wrecks, then it's only fair they should pay to have them "back"

This has worked for me before. Depending on what kind of mission it is, you can get upwards of 10-20m.

hmm lets see
a guy ? using a female name and portrait
talking about the slapper indors he has to take out for dinner
I stopped reading at point
this is obvously some kid whose nads have not dropped yet .
I wonder what family member of his he considers to be a slapper ? ( he cant have sisters old enough to be legally sexually active ) and at that age probably still thinks girls have fleas .
I was going to suggest he only starts posting once at least 1 nad had dropped , but dont hold your breath .
But on reflection I thought , please hold your breath until at least 1 nad drops ( if you have a problem in doing this , one in game solution would be a strong plastic bag plus some gaffer tape ).

Now now, there's no need to take it out of game and start with personal insults - it just makes you look silly. Also I'm pretty sure it wasn't your mission and "your" salvage I ransomed, so why the pouting? I could understand your displeasure if it were you.
Yes, I'm a guy playing a female character - that's not unheard of in EvE is it? I won't question your RL sex, but I will say that my portrait is considerably more easy on the eye than yours and that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
PS. Please contract me;
1 x Roll of gaffer tape 1 x Plastic bag 1 x Nad
Thanks

I had someone in a frig invade my mission. It was a drone one, forget the name, with the kazum mother drone. He salvaged a couple of wrecks, occupational hazzard no biggie.
I eventually pop the mother drone, he zips over, steals the Elite Drone AI and warps off, then tries to ransom it!
I laughed a lot. I was even going to give him my small pile of the useless drone AI chips in my hangar but he left system.
I think the poor noob thought he stolen the mission objective.
I look forward to the salvage thieves, they make me laugh :)

I posted my dissatisfaction and I to this rule. I buy ammo and ship in mission risk, and someone comes and takes salvagele of my mission. I do not agree and are the most serious that can not get him punished. That is good for salvage of millet blueprint with various items and I just have to buy. It's a big ERROR.

They are not yours They were never yours They will never be yours
It will remain that way as long as you continue to say they are "yours", which they're not
And yes, if you really really really want salvaged flagged as theft then New Eden will be littered with the corpses and wrecks of carebears everywhere.

As my Pappy used to say, one mans Crap is another mans profit margin.
Unfortunatly drowning in a vat of liquid umm waste, kinda proved to be his death.
Kudos on getting someone to pay for the wrecks they expended time on killing.

The only thing that in any way bugs me about ninja salvaging - its too easy. Any muppet can do it, and make a tidy profit. Everyone else in this game actually has to put some effort in, but salvagers just kida waft about, scooping up wrecks and ****ing cans of crap modules.
In other words - you are having it WAY too easy.
I am actually tempted to give up missions, and take to salvaging. Screw having to DO stuff for my isk, I will just hoover up wrecks instead!

Hold on, I was watching the news on TV, reading this forum, downloading ****, and running a mission at the same time.
Are you implying that mission running is hard? Getting the needed skills to scan down a mission runner is a pain but the skills are very useful in wars. Scanning down a mission runner who wants to "play" can be a time consuming affair. Finding one that will pay a ransom due to stupidity takes time. I could probably make more isk mission running then doing mission runner scans. But it is fun because mission NPCs don't get mad and smack you in local like mission runners do. I'm in it for the interaction between fellow Eve players not for the isk.
************************************************* I have three characters. One has Cov Ops V along with all the bells and whistles that goes with it. |

Thats my point. Mission running is easy... but salvaging a mission is 1000x easier. probably 1000x more boring unless you factor in being an ass to people, but hey, if thats why you play this game then... well... I dunno. Just seems like a pretty lame reason to play a computer game you have to pay for.
I interact with Eve players. Everyone I actually play with regularly, I know, IRL. We mission run together and stuff. And its a lot more fun than scooting around ****ing people off.
I dunno. Something about the stated intent to generate 'smack' annoys me, since normally people who tell me they like 'smack' get booted in the crotch, and shoved into a trash bin, because I really REALLY hate junkies.
