What would be considered the central point in eve? I am not talking about where everyone visits or does business. Bu the actual physical location when you look at the influence maps. What would be the system that most would consider the central point of eve? |

Everything in Eve revolves around Chribba, he's the centre of the universe.

Take a screenshot of the Eve-map, print it out, fold it twice from corner to corner.
When you unfold the map the creases will intersect at the centre of the universe (chribba)

Center based on the general paremeter of the EVE system, economic center, or Mathmatical center based on the average distance from all systems? _______________

Mathmatical center. System that would be midpoint to most on the farthest reaches of empire space. |

this business venture would be seperate of the market hub jita. As mentioned in previous posts I am seeking player opinions on what they think the "actual" mid-point or center of eve is. Not where the center of massed spam and penny games are played :)

I don't remember where I saw it, but somebody actually did calculate the center of the EVE universe. If I have time in the next couple of days, I'll hopefully be able to find it and link to it.
The guy actually found that Jita is the center. Something like 20 jumps in each direction (N,E,S,W) will take you to the farthest reaches of null sec.

Did you confirm this by my tried and tested 'Map print-out folding method'.

no, i took up eve sov map and carefully counted pixels of empire boundaries to find the center of the empire space.
no, i just took up ombey maps and saw that sinq laison is more centered, so i f10'd and pinned down the system near the center of empire space (approximated) |

IIRC, someone here did some fancy calculations to find the system that had the shortest average distances to anywhere in New Eden.
The result was Kaaputenen, which is about 5 jumps from Jita.
Hope that helps. |

I remember that too, I'm too lazy to search for it though.

There is a system in lower stain with one sun and 2 gates. Don't ask me for it's name but my bet would be on this one.

If we consider the central point of eve to be the origin (x = 0, y = 0, z = 0) then the nearest system would be Skarkon.
But since the origin is not necessarily in the middle of all the stars its probably best to take the average of the x/y/z of each system. This works out to be x = -91, y = 42, z = 10 (after dividing it down a bit, the original numbers are in the range of thousands of billions).
Taking this average point as the center the nearest system is Trytedald.
Heres some screenies to prove im not completely making it all up map closeup
The blue cross marks the origin, the red cross is the average. Take your pick which is the "true" center of eve |
