I still say it is Polaris.
Anyone that is in that system can reach any system in EVE in a single jump. Hell they don't even need gates to do it. Sure beats "within 20 jumps of everything" quite thoroughly.

There is no center.
The mathematical center of empire space is low sec, iirc, because the empires form a torus of sorts around a small patch of low sec.

What center of eve are you really looking for -
Trading - Jita
History - Eve Gate
Map center - Lashesih (not perfect I eyeballed it flat map style)
Map center of empire - near Aphend (eyeballed it again)
You can find all kinds of centers you need to decided yourself what center you are looking for and go from there. |

Actually, looking at the most up to date map, (which is sat right on the wall beside me as I type this) the mathematical center of the New Eden cluster is around the south border of Molden Heath, where it borders northern Derelik.
Empire space is not in the center of the map, the majority of it's bulk is off to the west, as the "drone regions" were added to the east.

You left out the Lore center of the universe.
I'd assume that's also Amarr cause of the Emperor and all, but I'm no military expert.
Btw, after listening to all the EVE Tourney commentaries, when reading Verone's posts, do you hear him talking in your head like they do in the movies when they read notes? ...or is it just me?
