as long as there's no pilot, and as long as you have the skills to enter the ship itself. Even if you can't use the mods you can enter, the mods you can't use will just offline. Rigs stay on. |

You don't need to be able to use the fittings. The only thing you need is the ability to pilot it. And yes, it counts as stealing from whoever you got it from. As long as a ship is empty in space and not in a passworded forcefield, you can board it you can fly it. |

Does it? As in agro flagged? Even if thats the case it certainly isnt stealing in my book, if someone is daft enough to nip out of the airlock for a brief stroll (float) then they should consider the ship gone tbh.
One of my corp members recently came across an empty Raven in a roid belt..! What are the reasons that would make someone leave their ship?

Bear in mind it is an exploit tho if you do this to avoid concorde or navy police i think.
So you can't move a pod past the faction police, get a mate to fly in the ship, leave it in space for you.. and then go and pop FW people in belts or in missions etc. Likewise with sec status.

It's not an exploit. It's a clever use of game mechanics at this current time. Hi-Sec Pirates use this technique for suicide ganking adventures. And now with the Orca and its ship maintainance bay it's even easier.

no i'm fairly sure it was introduced as an exploit and people were banned from doing it. Cos i remember thinking at the time it was a good idea. |
