Speaking of dense, you can pretty much already do this. It's called the character bizarre. Right now you can go buy a three year old character with isk. All this feature would do is make it easier to get the skills you want. So yes right now a child with daddy's credit card is buying a three year old character and ruining eve for you...
however, there are a limited number of three year old accounts. with this idea, there could be as many three year old-trained characters as there are subscribers. and then what fun would it be? everyone would be able to do everything!

I like this idea so long as I get to be a Jedi.

What if we could pay to have certain users removed from their ship and podded?
I don't want to have to declare war on someone, wait for them to undock, wait for them to miss docking back up, kill their ship, catch their pod and then pod them, when I could do it just as easily by spending the same time running missions for the isk.
I think it's a good idea (in some kind of very whacked up universe) IMO.

Throwing real money at a perceived problem in the game is almost never a good idea. It promotes rich over poor, it turns the game into micro-transactions (on top of a monthly fee no less), and generally sends completely the wrong message to players.
Long skill times are there for a reason. EVE has been running for 5 years. The total number of skillpoints possible in the game accounts for 10-20 years at least. EVE is a long-term game, not for instant gratification.
Since ISK is purchaseable, the long skills are the only way to require players to specialise in some form. Whilst in practice a lot of partially trained skills can get you a long way towards being self-reliant, and in particular industry and mining suffer heavily from solo-oriented gameplay, there needs to be some hint towards players operating in groups. Long skills are that. |

I am ABSOLUTELY AGAINST new accounts from just paying to skill up, its a game and would take legitimacy and pride out of veteran players.
Though on the other side of the fence...
I personally would like to purchase the skill points that I would have accrued over the last 2 years if I had paid.
I took a 2 year break after playing 2003-2006 and right now I would pay the monthly fees (2 years X 15 a month = 360 bucks) to gain those lost skill points.
But unfortunately people would just activate an account disable, then pay for an alt after 3 years... so oh well it wouldn't work
WHY DID I CANCEL!!! haha
