Anyway, the vigil may hold the honor of being one of the only vertical ships, but it is certainly not the greatest frigate.

Vigil is an amazing ship.
Firstly, it is blindingly fast - without skills an amazing 353m/s!!! If there was a "Kessel Run" in Eve, this baby could easily do it under a crappy 12 parsecs.
5% target painting per level! WTF I can't believe CCP haven't yet nerfed this imbalanced bonus all the way back to the Eve gate. Painting is one of he most under-rated modules in Eve.
5m^3 of drone space. What can I say - for a cheap frigate, simple amazing.
Ladar sensor strength of 12! TWELVE! No matter how you say it, an incredible amount.
Last, but not least - if you look and this ship and concentrate real hard - it looks like one of the original Transformers! I predict that the current Alliance tournament will be won by the team fielding the most Vigils.

Vigil is great for semi-afk autopiloting. With a MWD it only needs some 4 seconds to approach a stargate. With the 3/3/3 slot layout you can even add some shield buffer and a bunch of salvagers for that random wreck you come across.

QFT on the speed. On a total noob char except the minimum skills to use the mods, I get 4k/sec out of a mwd vigil
