Okay, so, I can only fly Amarr & Gallente. Got good armor tanking skills and am about to get into a HIC. I'll be able to fly both the Devote & Phobos. My question is, since I prefer to fly smaller ships, it seems like a logical idea to bring one of these along on a RR BS gang since i have poor BS skills and no desire to improve them. I know that in general the Onyx and Broadsword outperform them in 0.0 work, but would that still hold true as bubble tackle for a remote rep gang?
My question is, which of these two ships would be the better of the two to bring along with a RR BS gang and should I go with a complete buffer fit or not?

If you are talking about RR like armor rep and not shield transfer you should go for an armor tanker probably. Just buffer up as much as you can and be sure to lock the HIC in time when it gets primaried. The Phobos is a very nice ship - I don't know much about the Amarr one.

Just remember that you cant be repped while the bubble is up.

I havent tried, but I think you still cant be repped. Even if you lose other penalties.

Well it's a choice between the Phobos and the Devotor.
I've not looked at the stats of the Devotor recently but I'm going to guess it has one more low slot and one less medium slot than the Phobos.

I'd go with the devoter myself, just make sure there's two of you and room to swap around when you need repair, and you'll be fine. -- 249km locking? |

correct. turned on generator = no remote assistance whatsoever (remote sensor boosting, eccm included)
though you can remote sensor boost one while the scripted generator is still "hot" and blinking, waiting for a target
and for bs gangs, i recommend a sabre and a scimitar - putting the gist back into logistics |

Edited by: Andracin on 05/02/2009 11:37:57 I usually fly the phobos for RR gangs, although the devoter works as well. As a pirate my engagements usually don't last all that long and having a tank that can be quickly repped by your mates in bs or logistics before you move on. My phobos has its own repper for when I fly solo but if you intend to fly only in gangs you can loose it and fit another plate.

flycatcher >>>>> sabre
it can dual bubble + cloak without any sacrifices and is a lot cheaper

Unless you're low sec pirating, I dont think you'll need ALL that buffer tank because I dont think you'll be primary...unless you're hunting cap ships. ----------------- Friends Forever |
