Been reading this forum, and I think I've come to some sort of understanding as to how the pirate mind works.
They all have a phsycological disorder called Catism, where they have certain characteristics of the Cat from the Red Dwarf holoreels.....
Cat: This is mine; that's mine, this is mine; that's mine; I'm claiming all this as mine ... except that bit. I don't want that bit. But all the rest of this is mine! Hey, this has been a good day! I've eaten five times, I've slept six times, and I'd made a lot of things mine! Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can't have sex with something!

Mispel a word by putting a letter in the worng place, and you have to sit at back of the forum.

I saw the humour, but was a bit dissapointed in you for spelling psychology incorrectly. If you are going to be Dr Raj, you need to be able to spell.

Not disparaging in-game pirates in anyway, but psychologists would interested at how some people gravitate to being a pirate. Some will do it purely as another aspect to the game. But others will do it because they can be real nasty barstewards, which in RL they would love to do but can't, either because its against the law, or because in RL they'd get their ass whooped.

Dunno whether ure a new char who doesnt know wtf ure on about or whether ure jus dumb or maybe ure just an alt made to come on here to make daft posts ( i dont know cos i cba to log on and check who u are )
Simple fact is, you came on the piracy section of the forums and made a stupid post with some dumb spelling mistakes and u deserve all the buggery you get for it.
As for fancying you, well i dont. Judging from ure spelling i dont think ure over 18 and as a rule i normally assume all characters in games are played by males ( hence me calling u tardboy earlier )
On the other hand, if you pay me enough ill come and stroke ure thigh whilst winking at you if you want? maybe that will distract you from making more dumb posts? :P

would you prefer this game if it had no pvp, no pirate in it? if you do, go play something else, pirating is one of the most influential, if not THE most important profession.

Besides, that won't work. If my sense of humour's dumb, then I won't be changing it anytime soon. Its a 20 day wait till I get Humour to lvl 5, but I'm compensating by getting Irony and Sarcasm to lvl 4

People are posting about something they know nothing of. The spelling was just the first thing i noticed, if i hadnt picked on that it would have been something else.

Time after time we see amateur psychologists on this forum trying to evaluate what makes an Eve player pirate. I'm getting fed up with people assuming because I play the game in a pirate style I'm obviously disfunctional in my real life and I 'probably eat kittens and stick babies on spikes' or 'you must have been bullied at school' etc etc.
We all play a part in this game and its essentially escapism and bares no relation what so ever to who we really are... unless you're a miner in which case you must be ghey (joke)

Ures is just the latest 'I think pirates are [insert something]' post. Its not very original and frankly they get a bit boring after a while.
People are posting about something they know nothing of. The spelling was just the first thing i noticed, if i hadnt picked on that it would have been something else.
The simple fact is i think ure post is dumb and shouldnt have been made in the first place but since i cant delete it, i slag it off instead :P

Time after time we see amateur psychologists on this forum trying to evaluate what makes an Eve player pirate. I'm getting fed up with people assuming because I play the game in a pirate style I'm obviously disfunctional in my real life and I 'probably eat kittens and stick babies on spikes' or 'you must have been bullied at school' etc etc.
We all play a part in this game and its essentially escapism and bares no relation what so ever to who we really are... unless you're a miner in which case you must be ghey (joke)

it is true that people effect a separate persona when RPing, and not the one for their character but out of character they do so as well. it is the worse in LARP (live action role play) but eve has a fair amount of it due its impersonal internet nature.
still that is what we play for :)
and while this community is a bunch of whiny adolescents and mentally adolescents who seem to think eve revolves around them your joke was still damn funny and it proves it when they start whining. you'll find that anything good tends to kick off rat-brat whining, I use it as a dousing rod.
Also no one cares about grammar and spelling here, other wise IÆd spell check before I post. Only lame people looking for some sort of insult when they canÆt come up with an adequate come back make comments on it.

On a side note, i just looked through the missions section of the forums and the market section of the forums and i didnt see people whining about the carebears making too much stuff or the mission *****s doing too many missions and getting too many rare components through them. There was no one crying for nerfs in how easy missions are or how easy it is to make stuff and sell it. For some reason, there was also no one trying to tell them that they knew how their minds work....

I don't believe it is possible to analyze the pirate thought process, as that would require that pirates have a brain. Which, as we all know, is not the case. Rather, I believe the actions of pirates are dictated by the more base insticts inherited by all mammals. Or, to be more specific, the attraction to shiny objects (glowing engines, metal hulls, etc) and the desire to hit things with a stick. These two impulses, which are typically controlled by more advanced, intelligent folks, are all that the pirate psyche consists of.

I'm always super alert and the one or two times someone has surprised me, it's usually in a little interceptor that my drones easily make short work of. By watching the map, local, and by anticipating their easily predictable reactions, pirates are painfully easy to slip past.
But what's really funny is that the best response pirates can come up with is to scream 'NERF' and 'EXPLOIT' whenever the rest of us figure out a new way to outsmart them. But that's to be expected, since pirates lack the capability of rational thought, as outlined in my last post.

Killing people in this game actually means something :) they do lose something of worth which is more than what happens in most other MMORPGS :) thats what gives u more of a buzz really.
Just wish people wouldnt whine so much :/ pirates dont come here and whine when they lose ships so why do other people do it? :P
