Bhaal is right.....depends on the person I guess.
I lost my First BS yesterday ( R.I.P. to the crew of the A.R.A. Rep Argentina) and I didn't even care (I actually thought that I was going to get really mad).
That's the nice thing about EVE lots of flavours of people around

Hmm...perhaps you should not read posts about people being upset about posts. They seem to upset you.
Forums are a place for people to come to and vent as well as find information and give opinions, regardless of how worthless their opinions are. Except for mine of course.
So, everyone has my express permission to say whatever they wish to say in whatever manner they see as fitting. Even Wyckoff.

You say people should not spend their time screaming at you for killing them.... but didnt you just spend several cents-worth of your own time to come here and complain about them screaming at your for killing them?
The paradox is you can never complain about a complainer without becoming that which you are complaining about.
Btw, Im new to the game and dirt poor, any contributions toward a good ship that I can get blown up in and scream at you for shooting me about would be greatly appreciated!
Ah as you are new you probably missed the part about "I'm a carebear miner" not a PvPer. Ask anyone in 20% Corp and when they stop laughing long enough they will tell you how I lost that Battleship to them.
As for complaining, I'm not complaining, in fact I thought it was funny as hell myself. Guess the guy should have bought a game manual off EBay to go with the Uber account. Cause only a newbie with a Ebay Account would be stupid enough to do what he did.
Story goes like this, he fired on me first. I was just minding my own business, mining in a .4 not bothering anybody.
Now as for pointers: 1) If you attack someone in your uber battleship by yourself. Check to see how many friends they have in system first. Kind of stupid/brave to do so in someone's corps home system.
2) PvPers will probably say it's worthy, but carebears will tell you all the time. Always, Always, Always, mount at least 2 WCS so you can run if you bite off more then you can chew.
3) If you mount all large gun on your battleship without drone support you may want to watch out for frigates. Which leads to pointer number 4.
4) When you attack someone in a asteroid belt in low sec. Don't forget that you also may have to deal with the NPC Pirate spawn as well as the person you are attacking.

44 Cans of Pyro = Between 60 and 70 Mil Isk depending on what price you get on your mins and where you sell them at.

The m0o reference was pointed to Omniwar.
It's not like you have one huge pyrox roid in front of you though, you have to find the belts, get in range with a couple of them, then move to next sector in the belt, then move again, then go to next belt, etc etc and it's probably not cost effective if they are all only a couple thousand units.
You have to calculate the time spent on finding locations, setting up bookmarks, hauling ore and hauling minerals to selling locations.
I'm not into this business stuff so I have no idea how much ISK you can make per hour doing this stuff though.

I lost an indy the other day. Had 4 shield boosters on it, and I was smiling as I died, cause I swear that guy must have spent more on missiles than it cost me for that POS bestower.
I picked it up cheap second hand and it was insured for twice what payed :-)

Errrr... I haven't done the math but unless you're operating in some funky "space time bubble" that is physically impossible to mine enough mineraly in SECURE space to afford a new BS in only 2 days. Ya reallly have to lay off the "space shrooms". And yes.. it's only 50 cents a day or whatever.. but it's still a HUGE time investment.. and I think thats the issue most people are having a problem with. You lose the item that took you a lot of your TIME to get, losing through stupidity.. or honest battle... or a calculated risk.. fine it IS then part of the game.... Losing said item through GRIEFING. or ingame BUGS is something else entirely. You didn't plan for that issue.. and it's dammed frustrating to have happen when it could so simply be addressed. ah well, Someone else can jump on the soapbox now.... P.S. . Ok I see now you HAVE done the math.. however it's still beyond the average player's ability to do that feat.. most of us can only realistically play a few hours a night.. so 3 days is still way impossible for most norman Un Godlike Non Mining Humans. :p |

What average player are you talking about? Yourself maybe? Of the 20 or 30 people that I regularly communicate with in this game most spend anywhere from 4 to 8 hours a day playing on the weekend and some the same time during the week. It's not Godlike, it's called hardcore playing, period.
If you are so busy that you can't put the time into the game that I do, sorry to hear that, sucks to be you. I personally like Eve and since where I live you spend most of your time inside due to the weather, I spend it playing Eve. IF that makes me above average and godlike in your eyes, you need some help.... 2005.01.21 05:09:06combatYour Tachyon Beam Laser I perfectly strikes Blood Priest, wrecking for 533.1 damage. |
