Damn I didn't shoot you for real, it's a simulation in a video game. It's not you real life ship, it doesn't exist, it's just pieces of code in a video game. Put it in prespective Eve runs $15 a month that is about .50 cents a day. So what around 2 cents a hour??
Ok it took you 3 weeks playing 2 hours a day to build that Battleship. So 41 hours invested in it, would it make you feel better if I sent you a paypal for $1?
In my time in Eve I have been podded 19 times. I have had 1 Battleship, 22 Cruisers, and I don't know how many Frigates shot out from under me. An I'M A GODDAMN CAREBEAR MINER!!!!
You lost 1 ship, just 1 simple little Battleship, don't quit the game because of that. If it hurts you that much come see me in K Prime and I will help you mine the mins to replace it. Takes me about 2 days to min enough Scordite and Pyro to buy a Battleship off the market. While you there, take notes so you to can realize how easy it is to replace ships in Eve these days.

I know its a laughing matter but i mine casually for over 60 mills per day in 1.0 and 0.9, and thats casual mining for me.
so ISK is way to easy to get in EVE these days.

EVE is a game
Games are hobbies
Hobbies include a great deal of time invested by the enthusiest
The enthusiest places a certain amount of emotion into the hobby
Hence, emotions always play a certain role in games & competition
If you can't handle the verbal abuse you may get from someone who is angry that you destroyed part of thier hobby, invested time, etc...
Don't f'ing shoot them...
You won't get any sympathy here, don't try asking for it and using the "it's just a game" excuse...

The paradox is you can never complain about a complainer without becoming that which you are complaining about.
Btw, Im new to the game and dirt poor, any contributions toward a good ship that I can get blown up in and scream at you for shooting me about would be greatly appreciated!

Hanse Davion has some advice I would recommend you reading twice.
In addition to that advice, here is another gem:
Don't read the forums if they are going to upset you so.
Eve is just a hobby, afterall, and generally hobbies are things that are supposed to kindle feelings appreciated by the hobbiest. Every person is different, Bhaal, and each person has different needs.
Because Hanse's needs include feeling tense or hightened emotions and because these conflict with yours, does that make Hanse's experience wrong? No. He is enjoying his hobby the way it was made to be enjoyed...and Kudos to him!
Fortunately, Eve is partitioned in such a way to engender the fullfillment each individual's play style. People who want to mine safely are strongly encouraged to do so in Secure Space.
(I have never seen a Stamp Collector rumaging through the bins in South Central L.A....why? Cause that area is best suited for other hobbies)
Think about it, and while you are doing that, think about how your actions effect others. Take Hanse's example, clearly he has noted how his actions effect others. That's an enlightened mind playing this game.
It is not often that I have read of Model Train Collectors murdering other Model Train Collectors over the way the victim went about their hobby.
