Take a scenario where you train Hull Upgrades, Mechanic and Shield Management ALL to level 5.
Add in a Noble ZET 3000 to the mix, for an additional 5%.
Do you add all the bonuses you get = 25% + 25+ + 5% for a total of 55% and then multiply it times the Armor HP listed in the ship you are flying?
With the Noble ZET, is that added into the mix - or multiplied after you add the skills together - 50% times 5 for the implant?
I know Shield HP is different. How much does getting this to level 5 help you overall?
Thanks for the help. I am trying to understand how to compute it and if you should add ALL bonus points together or if there is another way to do it.

First Hull Upgrades and Mechanic affect different attributes. One improves armour hit points, the other improves structure hit points.
As for the effects, each is multiplied seperately. So with a skill at level 5 and a 5% bonus from an implant you would get (1.25 * 1.05 = 1.3125) 31.25% increase in hit points.
If you add in another bonus it would also be multiplied. So for example an Augoror with Cruiser V, Hull Upgrades V and a 5% hardwire implant would get you 1,329 * 1.5 * 1.25 * 1.05 = 2616 armour hit points.

Edited by: Marine HK4861 on 05/02/2009 16:54:10 You're confusing Shields, Armour and Structure.
If you had the skills listed to 5 and the implant, your ship would have 25% shields above base, 25% armour above base and (1.25*0.02) 27.5% structure above base.
In EVE, add all the bonuses from a skill (thus for Mechanic, it's 25%, not 27.6%), then all the different bonuses (skills, module, implant) multiply together.

No.
A ship has base attributes for hull, armor and shield. The level of your Mechanic skill affects hull hp and hull hp only. The level of your Hull Upgrades skill affects armor hp and and armor hp only. The level of your Shield Management skill affects shield hp and shield hp only. So a ship with base 100 shield hp, 100 armor hp and 100 hull hp would have 125 shield hp, 125 armor hp and 125 hull hp with all of these skills to level V.
Hardwirings (and rigs) that impact these attributes are multiplicative. So if you have a ship with a 100 hull hp, and Mechanic V, and a hardwiring that gives 5% to hull hp, your total hull hp would be 100*1.25*1.05 = 131.25.

Thanks for the clarification. I have a lot to learn! This would then be a huge benefit to learn these skills, from what I am gathering and worth the time to invest perhaps at the beginning of skill training, after your learning skills.
