It's no different from someone being grumpy that they "grinded" their navy raven, while some new guy came in, sold plexes and bought the damn thing.
I think the reason people are complaining is because of the precedence these two examples set. That you can "jump in front" in EvE by throwing more money at CCP. |

Well doesn't work out to well though, new players start out with a bunch more skills then the time I started. Games evolve and CCP is trying to pull in newer players and that goes easier by easening the first steps. And nothing stops vets to buy the box, transfer that shuttle to their main and then just close down account.
Or if CCP is smart they would allow it even to use the codes of the bought box to upgrade existing accounts. Or sell serials that give the same bonus items for a lower price, but can only be used to upgrade existing payed accounts. Just look at how PlayNC does that with their City of Heroes title.

The only way they can not lose face in my eyes is if the "special shuttle" is the apotheosis, and the faction boost thing happens to all players who do a starting agent mission.
Really, I love ccp (in a stockholm kinda way) but, If they give people **** for buying a box, I will be seriously disasappointed. Not mad, just disappointed.

I suppose you don't know or don't remember the 10 missions story arc you got after leaving the school in the past (if you had done the tutorial and the mission for the station agent).
The version for the Gallente was for the Federal intelligence and at the end of the story arc you had about 1 faction standing with the Gallente Federation.
It was a "against other empires" mission, moving tampered fuels to sabotage a shuttle and kill a enemy pilot (Caldari from memory), substituting his clone with a Gallente agent.
So a starting mission with a good faction boost is nothing new.
That mission was offered only if you did all the tutorial and the mission for the starting station agent and was offered as a storyline mission (the agent would contact you and ask you to do it). So if you skipped it there was no way to get it back.
I suppose this will be the same thing. |

This is ridiculous. Who cares if they're getting a new shuttle. What's it going to have? 50m3 and go 700m/s?
Whoopde-freaking-do.
Stop complaining so much, really. It's just a shuttle.
And yes, I know the main argument here is that CCP is giving exclusive stuff to people who buy the game. I still say who cares. It's their bloody game. If you don't like it, leave. Where's Leaving Eve when you need him... |

People have been paying CCP to jump in front by running multiple accounts for a very long time.
There's a reason why "reputable" game companies often ban multiple accounts right along side RMT.
But hey, the cash is flowing, so why stop now? Just good business, after all.

They refuted the box art not the extra's such as the shuttle. |
