Got drunk yesterday and then i got bored of doing missions, so I decided to try my hand at pirating.
I grabbed my corp mate and we set off for 0.4 space in our cruisers, looking through asteriod belts for someone to pick on. 2 systems later in 0.3 we found a lone npc hunter, he was flying a caracal same as me, but had been playing for 9 months, so i though his skills will be much better than mine at only 1 1/2 months, so this should be a good fight.
I hadnt used a webifier or warp disruptor before so I though heres my chance so i got within 10k of him and got him with both. He started firing and I opened up on him.
Now the plan was to shoot him down to 1/4 hull then demand money to leave him, but as I was drunk I didnt stop the launchers in time, and he was sitting in a pod 
I thought right he will warp now before i get a lock on the pod, but he didnt. A couple of seconds later hes sitting in a webbed/scrambled pod, so I msg him and say 4 mill or I pod you. He says (after swearing at me a lot)i dont have any money, spent it all on the ship and didnt have enough for insurance. I dont beleive him so I take a look at what he had fitted to the ship, nothing special, all standard stuff. So I think 'damn got no beer left' then i get back to the business in hand and I say, well i'll let you off this time, so I leave him with his cargo and alive and pop to a planet to wait for the flagging to go away.
As I was sitting there I get a conscience and start to feel bad, so I transfered 1 mill to his account twords getting a new ship

He would have had at least 40% the value of his cruiser from the 'free' insurance every ship comes with.
Thus he was refusing to pay.
If someone has the option to pay, but refuses, pod them.

He claimed to have no money, but was obviously lying.
He would have had at least 40% the value of his cruiser from the 'free' insurance every ship comes with.
Thus he was refusing to pay.
If someone has the option to pay, but refuses, pod them.

Yeah, sometimes i feel bad about attacking people or podding them or blowing up their ship :/ But when people start swearign in local and giving us abuse it just makes me wanna kill them some more :) hehe
If he cant afford insurance then he shouldnt really be out in the ship in a .4 system should he? :P
Although saying that, i did once give someone 400k back after we ganged someone and ganked them :D hehe it was their first cruiser and it wasnt insured :D which made me giggle but after a while i felt sorry for them :P

Well I think the swearing is enough reason for the podding. Hell I've been killed loads of times and never once felt the need to be abusive.
First few trips into .4 as a noob and I lost a rifter (and pod) to a blackbird firing cruise (well before missile patch). EVE-mailed the attacker to congratulate them.
2 nights ago I lost a mammoth full of every module, BPO amd mineral I owned in 0.0 to a CA gate camp. My one and only message in local as my corpse spun slowly in space was 'Good shootin guys'.
Oh and as soon as I get a spare rifter I'll come play with the FSJ guys that I ran away from last night  - when they send my stupid-a55 back to the clone chamber there will be no swearing or smack talk. It's totally unnecessary (sp?).
So remember boys and girls, if by some miracle I ever have you locked down in a pod - thy better be nice to me

the other day i blew up a newb in an indy movin his stuff, felt the guilt, gave him 1 mil isk for compensation. Recieve a mail from him a few minutes later reading:
"I'll remeber you til the day i quit, YOUR *** IS MINE ******!!!"
thats what i get for being nice....kinda

Yeah, you might be a little too soft for pirating. I usually only feel bad when I blow up the same guy multiple times in one day...
Show no mercy, everybody claims to have no money when you attack them...

Okay, I have a question here: Why do people cuss pirates out? ITS JUST A GAME, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE. If you get blown up, chill out, got get yourself some alcohol/caffine, then get into your noob ship and start mining. The other thing I don't get is why newbies go into low sec. space and mine in a roid field. That is just begging for somebody to come and blow you up. If you can't take care of yourself, then go hide in 0.5 or above. If you get blown up, its your own fault.

hmmmm, I've pod killed my fair share of guys, never felt any remorse, I usually laugh and say see yah later in local..... Its funny peoples reactions in local when they ask if I podded the guy...wierd
