2 - The name wasn't reserved - we wanted it, we petitioned an inactive corp to take it back and we got it (and the ticker). This was done quite commonly at the time, you wouldn't know about that though as you weren't playing eve at the time.
3 - We've never said Delve was how it was when we moved here - CCP FORCED us to take the Blood Raider stations as part of a storyline, the rest of the thread you haven't posted will quite clearly indicate how ****ed we were, so in return we got some (poxy) standings.
4 - The letters to Kieron were AFTER the original roleplay agreement wasn't honoured - of course we could have just ignored it, or perhaps whined like little girls in a threadnaught.
Thank god we didn't take that little gem of forum art away from you goons tho, hey hey.

Pretty much this. You guys look pretty foolish right now - what Dianabolic posted is, more or less, what I remember happening at the time. This isn't some kind of grand conspiracy; most major alliances got a chance to interact with NPC corporations at some point or another. Live events were just part of the game.
Anyone else remember how upset people got when Stain Empire got those Miner II BPCs from an PRing event? Or LV winning a Hel for completing the Angel RP event? I know Goonfleet was involved with at least two of these RP events themselves. This is just how the game use to be - there's no reason to get upset about it. ---

We were originally CCCP. CCP asked us to change the name, so we decided on Bob. We grew to accept and like the name. Months passed. Then CCP introduced in-game support for alliances. We decided to keep the replacement name we'd adopted. ______

I'd like to complain about the obvious and blatant favouritism displayed to those that were in a position of financial comfort to collect Jovian body-parts in large batches in May 2004 and that I shall be creating a petition to complain that we didn't win favour with the Jovian race by not collecting the largest number of Misu Baniya's body-parts.
**** you CCP - I wanted that prize too! The obvious open show of cheating by CCP and favourtism ingame is obvious!
Now I await my beating.

I posted this on the Something Awful forums - this is how I remember things going down, please correct me if I'm wrong (I was but a wee space-ship flier at the time and it was many years ago)
Originally by: "Umdrehung" You guys are blowing the blood-raiders thing out of proportion. There's nothing there that wasn't public already.
Back before the in-game role-playing **** got shut-down (aurora), the GMs liked doing events from time to time with the different factions in the game. You might remember LV getting a Hel out of completing some special RP event with the Angel Cartel, or us (Goonfleet) ****ing up a Serpentis RP event by killing a mothership.
The thing with Bloodraiders and BoB (as I remmeber it, so I'm surely getting some details wrong) is that the Blood Raiders faction was exiled from the Amarr Empire for some kind of blood-letting religious bull****. They chose Delve as their new home and to make room for them, NPC sov had to be added to the region. As part of the "event", they had an agreement with BoB (who owned all of Delve at the time) where they got to choose, as part of their reward, 10 pilots to receive free standings increases from the Blood Raiders - similar to what happens now with the alliance tournament. This was part of BoB's compensation for having their region ****ed up by pirate sov.
This kind of thing was really common at the time - ATUK got the Guristas to attack towers with dreads as part of a role-playing event. Stain Empire got Miner II BPCs from True Power (an NPC-stain corp) in the middle of their war with Curse Alliance, which was met with pretty unprecedented outrage, seeing as no one else had miner IIs at the time.
If you guys continue harping on this, you're going to look really foolish, as this is simply how the game was at the time. Everyone did it, and it was just accepted as part of the game.

Dian is terrible at PR. Obvious lying, back peddling, and trying to explain that cheating is alright (so long as you're in the alliance formerly known as BoB).
Having CCP set standings which you have to grind for: simply cheating. Cheating is not roleplaying. Is it no wonder that a GM thought it would be ok to set a high RP value on his character to get T2 BPOs, as it is no different to changing standings, or any other value in the db.
CCP FORCED US TO TAKE THAT SPACE. I'm sure you resisted, and fought tooth and nail every step of the way.
I don't blame BoB for accepting these large gifts served up on a silver platter. This issue is specifically about CCP's exceptionally unprofessional conduct. At very least the players deserve an apology from CCP for their behaviour. http://obeythekitten.com/ |

And as for the name When I joined it was just BoB. then after they create proper alliances I logged in to see Band Of Brothers. And I was like Oh so thats what BoB stands for

The only reason for wanting uber standings in a 0.0 system is if you were gonna use NPC refine stations. But in this instalment of ther history they explain that the first thing hey did was conq the refine stations! So why the hell would they need to refine in NPC stations when they got there own damn stations?!!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!?!!
