The only reason for wanting ubre standings in a 0.0 system is if you were onna use NPC refie stations. But in this instalment of ther hstory they explain that the first thing hey did was conq the refine stations! So why the hell would they need to refine in NPC stations when they got there own damn stations?!!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!?!!

Originally by: "Umdrehung" You guys are blowing the blood-raiders thing out of proportion. There's nothing there that wasn't public already.
Back before the in-game role-playing **** got shut-down (aurora), the GMs liked doing events from time to time with the different factions in the game. You might remember LV getting a Hel out of completing some special RP event with the Angel Cartel, or us (Goonfleet) ****ing up a Serpentis RP event by killing a mothership.
The thing with Bloodraiders and BoB (as I remmeber it, so I'm surely getting some details wrong) is that the Blood Raiders faction was exiled from the Amarr Empire for some kind of blood-letting religious bull****. They chose Delve as their new home and to make room for them, NPC sov had to be added to the region. As part of the "event", they had an agreement with BoB (who owned all of Delve at the time) where they got to choose, as part of their reward, 10 pilots to receive free standings increases from the Blood Raiders - similar to what happens now with the alliance tournament. This was part of BoB's compensation for having their region ****ed up by pirate sov.
This kind of thing was really common at the time - ATUK got the Guristas to attack towers with dreads as part of a role-playing event. Stain Empire got Miner II BPCs from True Power (an NPC-stain corp) in the middle of their war with Curse Alliance, which was met with pretty unprecedented outrage, seeing as no one else had miner IIs at the time.
If you guys continue harping on this, you're going to look really foolish, as this is simply how the game was at the time. Everyone did it, and it was just accepted as part of the game.
From what I remember, a couple organizations got various items when SA got theirs, I can't remember what the event was but the winners were each able to grab 1 very rare item from a can. A couple of those items being Miner 2 bpos, think there was a Harvester BPO(the only one ever givin out). I believe Everlasting Vendetta was the SA corp that got one of the M2's. (Though its been so long, I may be bunching up events). |

Hey shut your puss! I'm just saying that back then the only bonus for pvp 0.0 corp for high standings would be for the miners to get no tax on refines (but there would be no tax on your own refinery) so that means the standings must have been for something else (like an event :P) |

I just say get all of BoB and all of Goons into one area and let em slug it out......whoever comes out of the dust wins and all STFU about it seeing how this will never end any other way. BoB will reform etc and retake the areas they lost im more then sure and we will all be back in the "who is in who's boat" like the past.

2 - The name wasn't reserved - we wanted it, we petitioned an inactive corp to take it back and we got it (and the ticker). This was done quite commonly at the time, you wouldn't know about that though as you weren't playing eve at the time.
Diana -
I'm a little confused, though that is often my state of mind these days. Didn't you say on Eve Radio yesterday that CCP forced the name on you because they didn't like the name CCCP?
With all due respect,
M
I actually answered this question once already this week but I can't find it to quote it :(
tl;dr: CCP didn't like us calling ourselves (I say us, I wasn't in RKK at the time) CCCP so they insisted we change it. buBBles said "**** it we'll just call ourselves Bob" (note, not Band of Brothers, or BoB, just "bob") and when alliances were introduced, by sheer coincidence, we find ourselves looking for a name that matched the initials.
Hence, Band of Brothers. A pretty historic coincidence, but coincidence none the less. Reikoku Diplomatic Forums

MASS got the miner 2 BPO iirc
For a starter it was unlimited BPCs (for those of you who remember what that was). Secondly, they were not from True power. It was a Jove event: The rogue jove admiral Ouria and 9 followers. Third, we had to abandon our policies for the event, open up stain for a day and let everyone come take part of the event. Fourth, iirc all 10 Jove ships had a miner 2 BPC in cargo - but surely some were destroyed in the explosions. Fifth, it was not during the war with Curse. It was at the time when RUS had retreated to the other end of the universe and still some month before the new big CA was formed (by the previous small CA, Sinister, RUS etc, and some other previous neutral corps in Curse).
I'm quite sure that Stain Alliance got 3 of them. MASS got one of them, Everlasting Vendetta got one, and I'm quite sure a third was picked up by Interstellar Elite (however their CEO with his 4 accounts was later banned and so their miner 2 BPC was gone from game iirc). However, some other corps/characters not affiliated with SA got home with a BPC in their cargo. Oh, and we also lost more BSs during that event than most big corps owned in those early days of the game.
Hope that clears it up a bit. Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

The first time I ever went in to 0.0 I was in a thorax. Me and Blockoindi came across a MASS mining op being protected by TRIGGER and yourself I think, you guys had the only tachyon bpo in the game and just let us on our way.
I then died to the collective in HLW despite them saying to me in local "just leave", instead I shot them because they had locked, webbed and scrambled me.
It was that experience that taught me how important local was.
