Oh, and diet mountain dew? Ye gods man, grow some taste buds.
Trust me... I don't drink diet for the flavor... it just happens to be the least detrimental caffeine delivery system I've found so far ;) I'd probably weigh 50lbs more if i drank as much non-diet dew :P
Edit: I speel gud _____________________________ Cogwheel's Workshop |

enjoy your bad health :)
First off, there is nothing bad about aspartame itself. You claimed that aspartame is bad for me but all you're supporting that with is the notion that diet soda can be a marker for weight gain. This says nothing about aspartame's direct effect on the body.
You didn't read what you linked did you? You just assumed the media hype was true and then posted the first wikipedia entry you came across. You missed this important part:
Quote: Sharon P. Fowler, MPH, who conducted the study, posited that it is not the diet drinks but something associated with their use that is linked to weight gain, perhaps simply that use of diet drinks increased as a person noticed that he or she was gaining weight.
See... I don't drink soda for calories or hydration. I drink them for flavor and caffeine. I would drink the same amount of soda and eat the same amount of food whether my sodas are diet or not. Since the soda itself is what was making me overweight, switching to diet is exactly what I needed. The FACT that I lost 30lbs after switching without any other changes in diet or exercise crits you for over 9000. _____________________________ Cogwheel's Workshop |
