The Five guessed the opponents were going to warp to zero and drop sentries with ishtars.
They warped in a scorp that had smartbombs and a massive tank and all the ishtars were completely thrown for a loop.
Never got their strategy right after that.

Last battle a rattlesnake was at zero to the beacon and was firing smartbombs off at the start. This forced a delay in the deployment of the ishtar sentries, and when they did finally get out, the rattle moved around popping the sentries.

Was a VERY nice addition to their setup. I wont go into detail what all that Rattlesnake did to me but it makes their setup just that much harder to beat. Mad props to them, they have quite a solid setup and they might take it all.
Had alot of fun, tried to field something that could beat them, but they mixed it up enough to screw us hard.
Congrats Five, good luck this weekend.

We knew you were going to field some variation on the long range damping caracals, so we tried to fit something that could counter it, without fielding the same thing. AB/MWD, damping, Navy Caracals, is such a strong fleet, we were pulling our hair out to find something to beat it. We thought we had it, but then you dropped the disco Rattlesnake at zero. We couldn't deploy sentries properly, which gave the Navy Caracals time to distance and damp, and from then on it was all over.
Super probs to The Five, awesome fleet and tactic, I hope you go all the way. :)

yeh Gf guys, you brought a good setup to counter what we had been doing in the previous matches and didnt really do anything wrong ( apart from blowing me up :P )

I'm not 100% sure about this year, but I know in the past it was possible to scan your opponents' warp in point from your own, so you could get a peek at what they had brought. As soon as I saw the smarty go off I started laughing on the couch. Really nice work by whoever worked that one out, tbh. Great match to watch. I wish we could have had some time to talk about it, but we had to go straight into the break.

Unfortunately had to watch the match from the sidelines, but the instant I saw that rattlesnake in the middle of the ishtars, i realised the boys were up a certain creek without a certain implement
