Friday night I got WC4. I cleared all rooms, blew up both War Installations, picked up the crew from the Heron took them back to the starbase but did not turn in the mission.
It is now Sunday morning and when I warp to the start of the mission I'm in empty space with no ships and no gates. Where did I go wrong? |

Here:
Quote: picked up the crew from the Heron
if you clear the last room and pick up the crew, that makes the mission "objective complete"
missions that have "objective complete" do not respawn. |

Thought that might be the problem. Thanks. So I should just avoid picking up the crew from now on? |

Don't go into the last room. I think destroying all the npcs is objective complete. |

No, the mission objective trigger is killing all the initial aggro rats in the last room. As long as you keep one of those alive (pick one of the BCs), you can kill everything else.

Ah I always thought it was one of the BS, good to know that it isn't and only random of initial spawn as to be kept alive |

When you run the mission again after DT? Yes, of course you get the same chance of the overseer spawning as you would when you normally run the mission, because you are running a new mission essentially.

I never get initial aggro in the last room - it's all a matter of where you are when you activate the acceleration gate.
When farming, I tend to just ignore the last room completely. |

A fun little sidenote regarding that.. I had never ever seen the overseer, and I been running missions on/off for years.
Last week some alliancemate talked about it and I figured I'd give it a shot, i.e., no overseer this time either so I warped out after I cleared Angels room two and warped back in. This time I went the Sansha line. No overseer here either.. ok fine, using gate to final room. Warping out instantly, and enter Angel room again - overseer! Warp out again, enter Sansha room - overseer!
As I said, I have a 100% ratio of not getting an overseer from previous numerous runs. This first and only time I warp out and go back in, I got one in both.

It is coincidence and luck... warping in and out does not cause the Overseer to spawn
Sometimes I've had it spawn with the initial mobs in the second room(s), sometimes it's thirty minutes later when went back to finish clearing the non completion trigger NPC's in the final pocket (yes I farm these utterly, just ignore the initial agro). Yea I have been running it for a long time. Every time I get the spawn it is a low bounty and I don't get faction loot. Only once was I so fortunate.

I've had the overseer spawn when warping back in to Salvage, it's almost like the second rooms become psuedo belt spawns |

I've had the Overseer spawn at various times, both initially and after a while, even quite a while after when going back in to salvage. But does anyone know if there is a time limit to how long after the spawn might appear? And does killing off the battle stations affect the chances of a late spawn? |

Has anyone ever seen a drastic drop in overseer quality when farming this mission? After the first run through I only seem to be getting ordinary BS called overseers but without faction mods, tech II salvage or even commander wrecks...

IF you want to help yourself out, add the ship type column to your overview - it will tell you whether the overseer is angel or domination. _______________ <Q> QUANT Hegemony Item Database

Edited by: Cibo Seidensha on 17/02/2009 16:25:31 Edited by: Cibo Seidensha on 17/02/2009 16:25:07 I had it show up after warping out from the second room for refit and flying back in. Do you think you can provoke the spawn by repeatedly warping into the second room?
Edit: Got a True Sansha Large Beam Laser Battery BPC from it (it spawned into the Sansha room).

I got a 3.75m Serp Overseer and a 4.875m Guristas Overseer on the same day.
Serp dropped Snake Beta, and a couple of crappier items, and Guristas Overseer didn't drop anything.
Best spawns I've gotten yet. And people claim that warping in doesn't change anything, yet when I warp in and out real quick on the serp side it will usually spawn after about 10-15 activations...

Incorrect. Easiest way to prove this is an alt in a shuttle doing the warp-in/warp-out while you sit there. The trigger for the Overseer to spawn is a ship warping onto the pocket's grid. If I don't get the Overseer on the initial trip into the pocket or the second to loot/salvage, I have my salvage alt in a shuttle do loops through the gate until the Overseer spawns. It always happens just as the alts shuttle hits the grid for that room, altho it may take multiple passes and you may still get the 375k Overseer.

I gave up on farming WC after the 3rd overseer was crap. Not worth the 1-3 hours spent each day waiting/warping for it to spawn...

So, from what I am gathering here, to trigger the overseer spawn you have to warp in and out until this happens. Can you only farm this mission once a day?

I'm sure the overseers are not triggered by warping in and out, but merely by waiting an appropriate amount of random time. You will see the same thing happen in another mission (single stage, one where you must destroy the slave pen, kill the sanshas, rescue slaves, i forget the name). If you take your time, even if you complete it or not, there will appear a high bounty Sansha BS.
Also, in my experience, if you wait to start WC (say, if you're getting a fleet together) then the overseers will spawn. A while back, when scanners revealed NPC ships, I would scan ahead to see what was waiting in the next rooms before warping in. Scans revealed overseers without repeated warp-ins.

I done WC yestersay, left 2 BCs from initial aggro in last room, and still mission completed. Any ideas why?

Recently I've been getting occasional aggro from both the first and the second group in the last room when I go in. It's possible that happened to you, and you left alive the BCs from the second group. Try leaving one of the BSs from the original group alive and see what happens. Not sure why it changed. I actually haven't farmed it in a while, so maybe something did change.

You won't see the same thing on Downing of the Slavers, if only because the trigger for the BS on this mission is not Random, it always takes the same amount of time. I play the mission in a slow ship, and the spawn always occurs at exactly the same point on my run to the slave pen.
