Is it actually worth learning more than connections to lvl 5 if you do missions 50% of the time?
I have heard that negotiation gets you more R&D points, is this true? And is it worth training to lvl 5?
How about the social skill itself, is it worth taking to lvl 5?

Connections helps standing wise to get access to agents. Negotiations does increase the rewards.

yes negotiations raises EQ also on R&D agents and gives you more RD points... - (i tested yesterday!)
It's not really worth it.. it's much better if you train research project management to lvl4 (and get more agents - preferably all on same field) and get your field of research to lvl5.

here's the formula:
RP/day = FM * ((1 + (EQ/100)) * (YFL + AFL)^2)
EQ = Base Agent Quality + (NEL * 5) (if agents base quality is 16 and you have Negotiations at level 4.. effective quality will be 36)
FM - Field multiplier EQ - agents effective quality YFL - your field level AFL - agents field level
For example.. if you use top gallente agent in duvolle labs (Base quality 16) and research "gallente spaceship engineering", which has field multiplier 3x. and you have Negotiations at lvl5, but gallente spaceship eng at lvl4...
RP = 3 * (1+0.41) * (4+3)^2 RP = 3 * 1.41 * 49 RP = 207.27 RP/day
but if you train Gallente spaceship eng to lvl5 instead of negotiations to lvl5... so gallente spacship lvl5, negotations lvl4...
RP = 3 * (1+0.36) * (5+3)^2 RP = 3 * 1.36 * 64 RP = 261.12 RP/day
Of course you have to take into account that gallente spacship takes longer to train than negotiations...
But they are the only skills that improve your RP/day.
