I have a question. If Sleepers can neut because Amarr have infinate ammo, then are we better off using passive tanked Nighthawks or Drakes, each of which can field hours of Ammo compared to the short time period of fire of a Amarr Faction/t2 crystal before it pops?
Even t1 crystals have their limits, since they run out of ammo when cap is gone |

Go figure that Caldari missile ships will remain the only good PvE weapon of choice. |

Passive shield tanked heavy pulse II pilgrims will rule w-space and since the devs have hinted it will usually require gang combat to fight the rats make sure you have a guardian along for energy transfer and emergency repping. |

A good amarr pilot never runs out of cap!
He..umm...tactically manipulates the cap flow by reducing necessary systems

Eh... I dunno. 600 unrigged DPS against a webbed battleship sized target at a range no greater than 20-something km including falloff isn't really an improvement in PvE efficiency over missile ships. NPCs still get killed by oversized missiles a lot quicker than they do by oversized guns unless I'm just doing it wrong. |

Errr... another approach. Can be possible that when say they have AI they have a different behavior depending the enemy they have? Even involving the use of Ship Analyzer to see the capabilities of that ship. They would be then a nice approach to get PVP experience with a NPC ship. |

You're doing it wrong.
Also: Projectiles? Drones?
Seriously, if fighting sleepers require 2 ships or more, just bring an Ishtar and do it solo, while having a full cargo bay for loot, a salvager and a massive tank.

Well, if they can change primaries, who says they won't target your drones? :)

That was one of the *snicker* points the drvs made. Drones will not be an aggro the rats go afk option with the new rats so micro will be needed to keep em alive.

Yeah, forgot about that. But it seems so extremely annoying (beyond viability) to drone boats if they change targets regularly, considering how drones work and all. And if they don't, it'll probably still be the way to go.

I think we can be fairly certain that the Sleepers will have any and all eWar available to them. Considering that they are a new breed entirely mixing the designers have most likely had free reign.
If the AI is as 'advanced' as CCP wants us to believe, drones will be taken out pretty quickly, Angels already do it to some extent.
Will be interesting to see just how tough these mofo's are going to be. Now I just need to find a ship with available utility slots (probe+salvager) and acceptable damage/tank .. *sigh*

Noteworthy that in most Amarr ships with good skills the guns use very little cap compared to active tanks. |

Cap batteries are your friendly fiends.
Admittedly they take over your cargo hold but you can happily tackle a neut ship as long as you've got a fistful of batteries on hand.
I have often wondered, given the presumed weight of cap batteries whether CCP could produce a trebuchet "turret" to enable you to lob dead cap batteries (livestock and janitors might also do the trick) at the opposition.

Yes, but take level 5 missions for instance: the neuting is so intense that even with cap boosting, you'll stay near 0 cap most of the time.
With sleepers, they either make it so that some decent cap stability and shooting priority targets (neuts) first will do the trick, or they make it so that cap is non-existent at all. For the former, active tanking, amarr guns, whatever will work, and it'll become just a nuisance - like all forms of EWAR in level 4 missions are. For the latter, Amarr gun ships are out of luck. |
