I've been trying for a few months to create/find a trading route. I've read a few articles on trading strategy. I don't expect anyone here to reveal their routes to me I just need a couple more bits of advice.
First of all, when I look at the market I'm overwhelmed at my options of what to invest in. Is it trial and error?
Also, I've spent so much damn time flying station to station investigating the market trends there. It very quickly becomes a blur and I don't entirely know what to look out for outside of obvious cheap goods or big changes in prices.
I'm not entirely positive how to judge what are worthy goods to invest in and what are not.
Any advice? -- autechre - ep7 - track 1: rpeg estevancarlos.com |

I am only a few weeks old and I have made 250mill in trades. If you got the time and passion you can do it.
250mil in trades and you're a few weeks old? Are you kidding me? Have you played trading sims before? How much money did you start out with? How does someone completely new to the game pull that off in a couple weeks? |

Currently I have the majority of my isk in buy orders which filled in about 2.5 days. I have hundreds of items scattered across 2 regions. It will take me about 2 evenings to collect everything. This time I bought T2 shield extenders, boosters, armor repairers etc. I will then haul it all to a region where the items sell high. There is one case where I was able to buy some items for just a couple thousand isk and I will be able resell for 100k+ That's 100x increase in profit for those items. But you will spend more time gathering up items but in the end it can be worth it.
So what I'm gathering from all of you is that I'm a wuss and don't know what I'm doing. Okay.
Also I guess I'm not taking enough risks. I have to admit, when it takes me forever to make a few million doing crap, I'm nervous to spend it on lots of goods I'm not always entirely sure will sell for an adequate price. I will however focus more on quantity and stop pu.ssyfooting.

No one ever said your a wuss or you don't know what your doing. Tell you what... people in this forum can be so sensitive.
My advice was to start small and build from there. Start small with ammo or things you have market knowledge of and then build from there.
I meant it only playfully. I'm just being critical of myself. |

I think it is also good to have a goal. Just not to make money to make money. But have a goal in mind. Mine was to be able to buy all high end implants then to buy a freighter and expensive skill books. This will cost hundreds of millions isk.
Have a goal in mind and it will direct you where you need to go. The eve market is very healthy and forgiving. Don't worry just dive in and it will take care of you if you do a little planning.
My goal is to make Rens a larger trading hub than Jita.

Originally by: Corpia Sin My personal opinion - that is a bad goal. Are you serious? I am done with helping in this thread as I can see it is leading no where.
um, yeah I'm mostly serious. I don't expect to achieve it but yeah. I want to, with others, change the dynamic of trading in the game. Jita doesn't need to be the largest hub. Of course I would need to spend a couple years working on this. -- autechre - ep7 - track 1: rpeg estevancarlos.com |
