The death penalty is incredibly low. Insurance covers nearly eveything except interceptors, named loot, and implants. If you cant afford to lose these, you should not be using them.
If you cant find PVP then join a different corp. Or just go sit at a gate in a boundry 0.0 system for a few hours. I'll let you in on a secret - you cant find people to shoot on the forums.
A statistics page will rapidly become worthless as people use alts and friends to screw with it.
All in all, this is just a slightly more polite way of saying what Viceroy said. Your ideas are bad.

Quote: Those are by far the worst ideas i've ever heard. You obviously have no experience what-so-ever, all of your post is wrong.
For such a hardass veteran, your post is abscent of any real constructive comments...
Then why the hell respond at all?
Oh, lemme guess, you don't have time to tell all of us why his ideas are no good. Just a NO from you is good enough huh?
The DEV's will take your word for it?

I too have to disagree. You are in the wrong corp mate. You can be quite effective in a frigate when it comes to ganking. There are plenty of well organized pvpers out there. Some are better than others, but they are still organized.
You are missing a large part of Eve, my suggestion is to get with a PVP corp and still do the npc/mining thing on the side. Good luck in your pvp endeavors
If loving you is wrong, I don't want to be right. |

The death penalty in EVE is fine.If anything its a little too easy to replace a ship.Implant and module insurance a la Ultima Online would be complete overkill and i for one would demand that they open a PvP server if such a thing ever happened.
The death penalty is very Darwinian in a way, in that only dumb people find themselves in situations where they risk more than they can afford.EVE's PvP should not be carebeared to death, I've been a MMORPG junk since 1996 and this is by far the best PVP orientated MMOG on the market.

Couldn't disagree more with teh whole idea excep the stats idea. It doesnt cost much to pvp at all you can do it in a frigate easily enough even in a bs its not that bigger loss provided u keep 30 mil in ure bank u can replace the bs and have isk left to play with and have it fully insured abtou 10 mins after u lose one.
Just dont fight in anyhting u cant afford to lose if u lose ure implants dont replace them while ure pvping. You dont need many SP to pvp to bs pvp i only have nearly 4 million skill points and i kill most people with 12mil + its all about ure setup.
I personally think it shud be more hurting when u lose a ship maybe reduce the isk u get form insureance its brilliant i t means people have to take risks and when u kill somthing you know uve achived somthing and that it will knock that player down for a while. I am not rich btw yet i manage to pvp i hardly ever mine.

It's called 8 warp core stab, double MWD, instant jump bookmark, log off exploit, safespot, ultra-consent PvP non-empire space.
Thanks. -- Stories: #1 --

I for one only have 1.3 Million Skill points 1.3!!! however I am high specialised. Caldari Ships, Loads of missles, Shields, and the electronic, enginerring and basic EW skills.
Every day Im flying a cruiser into enemy territory and scoring kills. If I die it costs me 7 million to get back into another cruiser fully equip and insured.
Insurance pays for about 4 million of that cost. 1 hour NPC hunting in a cruiser = 3 million isk EASY.
I have made kills in PVP engagements. Am I the best at what I do absolutley not! But if you play smart and specialise in what you do then you have a good chance.
(yes 1.3 million sp and over a year of eve, this is my main)

I think the main reson that many Empire players are not going out to 0.0 for some PvP action is time.
Combat can be very short, down to a few seconds. Time to replace the ship can take a couple of hours, and im not talking about time to recoup cost (cost isnt really an issue as there is alot of isk out there). Just i find that when i have to replace a ship i waste several hours just to travel in empire space from station to station, buying a replacement ships, then the moduals, guns, ammo etc, then to head back to any combat areas only to have to go through it all again.
When i only have a few hours a night to play, PvP just isnt worth the time spent for a few seconds of fun. I keep hearing that Eve isnt quake in space, but with quake at least you can get back in the fight quickly.
Unfortunalty until such services as IntraBus (sp?) and Ship Haulage get to the point where is possible for a player to setup replacement ships close to combat areas (ie reduce empire travel time), i doubt the time issue will ever go away.

Pvp works for the most part in this game, so no comment on most of your points.
I will agree with the stats thing. That is one thing that absolutly dismays me about this game - no stats of any kind!
For a PvP game, the only really meaningful thing at the end of the day is "am I more of a bad-ass then Joe"? Stats will tell the tale. I want combat stats, market stats, wealth stats, etc, etc.
How this game can be over a year old now and not have this is mind boggling. Btw, I do remember a dev commenting that they would do this, that was spring of last year...
