Your grasp of not being a pedantic ******* is tenuous at best.

Pedantic is what people like you call people who know better than you. If you really think that the disbanding of the British Empire was due to "weak-willed busybodies" then you are simply flat-out ignorant of the real causes, which were neither simple nor dishonourable.
I'll throw this out to the peanut gallery: the British empire was acquired in the main for commercial reasons, or for military reasons in support of commercial considerations; and was largely disbanded for the same reasons: money, land military necessity. Apart from the acquisistion of several marginal african territories in the late 19th century, it was never about giving people like you something to hold up as compensation for your own inadequacies. As it was, Britain hobbled it's economy with the military deployments it did undertake after WW2. Had a serious attempt been made to retain India and Africa... well let's just say that it's fortunate that no-one was stupid enough to actually undertake it. The moral aspects aside, it was simply impractical - unless you're seriously going to try and assert that we could have won a dozen Vietnams. The "white colonies" - Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa - had been granted independance long before, and a good thing too. When India was granted independance, we were pretty much recognising the facts on the ground.
Note that there still is an empire, and the remaining colonies have 3 things in common: we want them, we need them, and we can hold them.

Perfect example of blind ignorant propaganda.
Ahmadinejad does not deny the Holocause. If you listen to his speaches he actually says he is sorry that Jews (Jews who lived back then) suffered but he brings into question the amount that died, because there is no proof to back the claim that six million were killed. There is ample proof that hundreds of thousands were arrested but there is no proof that millions were killed and that's what he simply states and as that is the idea of many historians he is doing nothing more than citing scientific evidence (or the lack there of). The only thing backing the claim that six million died is the incessant whining done by said population as they oblitterate another population.
He then goes on to blame ZioNa-zi's for the current state of Palestine.

The UK is the bastion of Political Correctness in Europe. If you want to see what a PC fascist society is like go live in the UK for a while.
I am not a supporter of the Iranian regime and would love to see Brown and Blair hang for treason (selling mass amounts of gold when gold is at its lowest price in a century is an act of treason).

No bodies = no Holocaust. The word "holocaust" as a term for mass destruction and death predates World War II. Denying that millions of people died as part of an orchestrated campaign against undesirable ethnic groups (Jews, Gypsies, etc) is denying that the Holocaust took place. So if Ahmadinejad says that life sucked for Jews back in WW2, but that they weren't being murdered by the millions, he's a denier.
You could cut the hubris of the hard line ****s with a knife. The thought that they might lose the war and be held to account for the numerous crimes committed apparently wasn't seriously considered until it was much too late. The people in charge of eliminating the various groups whose existence was deemed undesirable kept meticulous records; fifty million pages of records in the town of Bad Arolsen covering like 15 million people imprisoned, executed, or used as forced labor across the camp systems. And that's just the data recovered from that one record repository.
As if the photo documentation and other records made by the Allied liberators at the end of the war wasn't evidence enough of what was going on.
