the stats on the test server are alot different then normal.
Cannot check it right now to confirm, but shouldn't you post in the Game Development forum? Also, first you're "hearing", then you state it as a fact that it's on SISI. Hmm... |

Originally by: Severice Infact normal blaster engagement range is around 2km, meaning blasters start of have tracking issues even WITH their enhanced tracking.
I think, you're heavily mistaken there. A large Heavy Neutron Blaster, without skills or mods, has an optimal of 7km. A medium Heavy Neutron can field an optimal at around three-and-a-half km without any mods or skills. If you're really talking about the small Blasters, well, the Pulses in that size class have an optimal of 6km. But hey, they're medium range weapons (compared in their size-class).
Uh, what? Blasters have no use for other ammo types than (Faction) Antimatter and Null. LOL at the guy talking about Void (The same tracking argument applies as with lazors, Void is useless compared to Fac AM) Large Neutron blaster optimal on a Mega with decent skills is then in actuality a bit over 4k, medium around 2k and small 1k ish or less... The furthest blasters can hit is the Neutron Mega with Null L ammo with an optimal of 10k and a fallof of 15k, but with severely reduced DPS and gimped tracking. (Though the tracking is decent for the 10+ ranges)
In normal blaster combat I would not fit anything other than Faction AM, the 10 seconds ammo change is a lot... The couple of shots of Null you would get in when burning in are not worth the 10 sec wait. I do carry the ammo for an instance where I'm being slowly kited by somebody dictating range but basically in that case I am dead already if no help arrives.
Don't compare blasters with lasers please, totally different animals. Most Amarr combat is done outside of Web and scram range unlike blasters... And no, the drone bay does not compensate for blaster range I'm afraid.
Personally, I do use Blasters in their current state as that is where my skills are, I even kill stuff with blasters but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to see blasters buffed somewhat. Tracking, range, help the medium and large blaster ships in some way, anything!
Fact is that the web nerf did hurt blaster users and that rails are not the answer... If we compare Deimos with Vaga and Zealot, the Deimos is hurting unless in a gang with great tackle and support. (Then it can be truely wonderful) Indeed Deimos can fit rails and use AM for comparable DPS with the zealot at its ranges but the rail tracking is AWFUL compared to the Zealot, OTOH with Null Neutrons and fallof rigs and maxed skills the range and thus effective DPS is still very limited compared to these other HAC counterparts (too close to web/scram range to be even remotely safe), albeit with decent tracking. And the Deimos is the one with a range bonus, Brutix and Rax are even worse off. ---
