Not at all. A properly fit heavy pulse II pilgrim will put out 220 dps on guns alone along with the 233dps of the hammer II. Just have a mate in another pilgrim with the nuet fit drain the cap whilst you melt the target with 450 combined dps along with his 233 for 700 dps total. As for the ecm drones I listed for him to put in the last 50m3 thats in case he is getting his arse handed to him and needs to jam the ship with the point. Very situational but will save your arse when the situation arises.

Nobody can scramble you without cap. I'd rather take a set of Valkyrie II for medium sized explosive damage.
That works too. About the not being able to run a point without cap well that is technically true but in practice unless the pilgrim times the neut cycles perfectly there is always enough regen to keep it active. At least thats been the case when I tackle curses and pilgrims with my rapier.

Originally by: Benedikt Miloslav Did they have a small neut fitted? I don't fly Amarr recons anymore, but when I did, that was enough to keep the target's cap at pretty much 0.
Yeah alot of them had small neuts and yes they can be a right bastard but I use a fit that has ferocious cap regen and no not a cap booster as it gimps the mids. Forgive me if I don't share the details though.

Originally by: Benedikt Miloslav Rigs? I fly a Rapier myself, and there aren't many rigs (that actually have a noticeable effect) to choose from, so cap ones are a valid choice. That, combined with a low slot, which Rapiers can also afford, puts your peak cap recharge well above the effect of a single small neut.
Still, it wouldn't work on my Curse, which ran 2 med neuts at different cycle times permanently (not a fan of the small neut range).
Interesting hypothesis. |
