Did anyone happen to catch if the Ishtar's bonuses are updated? Since drones theoretically have a massive control range in the update, one of this HACs bonuses would be nullified. Considering this in one of the most popular mid-sized T2 ships in the game, more then a few people should be interested in the answer (to this question).
If changes to the bonuses are still being considered, might I suggest a bonus to drone movement speed instead?

It's not a change to control range for any ship, it's just a bug fix so that drone control is able to work out to 250km (IOW, as far as your skills and modules will allow). -----------

I'm pretty sure what it means is that the theoretical max drone control range is now 249km, not that you can always control your drones out that far. ---

I hope you're correct in those assumptions. Certainly 250km default control range would be bad. Perhaps we can ask them to clarify that point on the update page.

I can't find the post right now, but a dev said that there was a hardlimit for the maximum control range way below 250 km. All they did was increase this hard limit to 250 km.

This.
Setting the default to 250km would not only invalidate the Ishtar, but also completely invalidate Scout Drone Operation and Electronic Warfare Interfacing, and I doubt CCP just throws two skills in the blender :D

People, this is a bug fix, placing a hard-limit on the drone control range, now no matter how many drone mods you fit, you cannot exceed the hard-coded limit of 250KM, previously, If you fit enough drone links and rigs, your drones could follow fast ships, say interceptors further than that. -----

Dev replied its for a bugfix becuase people would try to get thier drones beyond the previous hard limit and they broke the game that way, so they increased the range to 250kms the same as gun enchagment to prevent this error from happening to those pilots managing to get drones to go out that far. =============

I don't think you can get that kind of drone control range anyway. I think this 'fix' is because if you assigned drones to another ship, and it warps off when 150km from you you will loose control of them.

I tested this with a mate of mine. You can only make the drones aggress within the distance that skill + ship bonii give you. Once you have them aggressed on something, you can burn out up to 250km away from them before losing control over them. So it is indeed only a hardlimit, tested and confirmed.
