The security status of systems in Etherium Reach, Malpais, Oasa, Outer Passage, Perrigen Falls, The Kalvela Expanse and the Spire has been adjusted upwards to bring them more into line with the rest of nullsec.
I was under the impression that homogeneous space is a problem and discourages greed, envy, and conflict. I thought it was going in the other direction... are we really trying to bring all the nullsec regions "in-line" with one another?

Or could it be that, and this is just a wild guess, while updating the drone regions, they felt they might need to update the drone regions? |

No, the changes are in no way related, its purely by chance that they updated the drone regions while updating the drone regions

This is less about homogeneity and more about basic balance. The sec distribution in the drone regions on TQ currently is *hugely* out of whack with the rest of the universe. |

"The sec distribution in the drone regions on TQ currently is *hugely* out of whack with the rest of the universe" Ya, just like the rest of drone regions. no faction loot worth anything, no loot tables, no security status from drones, and crappy salvage. Yet you still can not find the time to "fix" those problems. But the rest of it yes, that is HUGELY out of whack.
To the OP, they are not making everything equal, the drone regions suck more now than they ever did after this patch. Putting them further out of line with the rest of the universe as a whole anyway. |

To the OP, they are not making everything equal, the drone regions suck more now than they ever did after this patch. Putting them further out of line with the rest of the universe as a whole anyway. I think null, specifically overall resource distribution and unique resources, should be unevenly distributed throughout null to give each region it's own unique characteristics. In this way space carries different value and that perceived value can drive conflict. Say for instance you had one or two regions of space that have a higher truesec (making it less attractive to ratters) but maybe those rats are the only ones that drop component "X"... and component "X" is required to make a certain module... say a anti-cloaking pulse. Now that this region of space is the exclusive region to get this critical component, it might be worth taking over. Now lets say all regions have a unique resource. Every time any balance change is made, the relative "value" of null space changes. This can drive conflict and prevent "static" alliances... I think it's part of the reason why so many have lost interest in treating null as the super serial game it should be. That's just one example of many many good ones I've read for making null less "even". tl;dr; if you are trying to appeal to me to make the Drone regions more like other space you should know we are not on the same side of this issue. Try selling some "Augmented" drones. They are certainly worth something...

And you only noticed now that the people who were there for years are gone and new alliances are moving in? I hope you'll excuse me for not believing that's a coincidence. This comes after drones getting bounties, also.
How many devs happen to have characters in these new alliances which are taking over the drone regions? That brittle rage, the bitter rubble, take your time and bring the trouble. |

OK, golf clap. So you finally got around to removing the mineral dump in drone alloys, and decided to add bounties to rogue drones.
While at that change, you moved very fast to balance drone regions sec modifiers to approximate that of other regions. But you have not provided any new officer or faction bonuses to rogue drones with which also to balance the rewards to those in other regions. Do you not see a problem with this? Result, drone regions still crap, only now for a different set of reasons.
And yeah, if you are so immediately concerned with regional balance we're still waiting for you to fix the ****-up of most-valuable technetium moon concetration after you nerfed the former evenly-distributed high-end most-valuable moon paradigm. |

No, they come from the lp store when doing missions for rouge drones in their NPC space. Maybe if I had done missions for the rogue drone agents instead I would have went for the super-duper Domi with clutching claws. That thing makes the Mach look like a noobship (we can dream). |

To elaborate on why CCP felt this was necessary, much of the drone regions are very, very low truesec, -.7 to -1 in many cases. This means that ABC as well as mercoxit spawns pretty much throughout the whole area. Now that mining is a "thing" they want to be sure that drone regions aren't abnormally good in that regard.
Of course, unless they slip in a stealth change, drone rats are abnormally bad now, since they don't drop any loot (meta 1-4 and metal scraps included), their faction spawns are junk, they have no officer spawns, and what few plexes they have from exploration are also junk. But that's a topic for another discussion. |

On the other hand this makes industry in 0.0 impossible without jump freighters which is breaking game in another aspct. Back in the day there were things called "convoys" that included regular freighters... and those "convoys" typically had something called "escorts" with them that would act to defend the freighters. Additionally, sometimes in advance of these "convoys" there would be something called a "scout" that would watch out for bad guys. I know these elements have been missing for a looooong time... but I think it would interesting to see them come back.
