Kick A** M8... good mix and good editing. One of the most appealing clips I've seen. Top Notch.

Blacklight & Notferr,
There was zero bait intended. I just thought it was incredibly funny and ironic that Notferr (the CoD spokesman) pre-scored it with a 5/5 before getting home to see that the video contained footage of carnage in CoD space. That is why there is a little laughing yellow guy after my statement.
Everyone is so edgy!

Edited by: Leafo on 07/08/2004 15:49:42 OMG! What a response!
Thank you all very much, I didn't expect that you all would like it so much. As I wrote earlier I wasn't entirely satisfied with the video, guess I have to re-evaluate it.
I have said it before but it can be repeated. It is for all of you I make this videos and it is because of your sincere comments and shown apprieciation I think it's fun and want to make more videos.
I especially think it's great that 'my' enemies can bury the axes and leave the battle in space for a minute and make such comments as you do. Glad to see that there still are civilised and honourable fighters out there!
Thank you and see you on the battlefield!
I will try to answer some of you questions and statements...

I've also given up on matching your video skills Leafo..I can only hope to get close one day. :)
in my own defense, i have very free little time and often make my videos in about 4-6 hours or so.
Don't put me on a pidestal, I'm just another guy that thinks its fun to make these kind of videos. Watch the the first 4 NSN-Files, I made those like 6 monts ago. Just keep fooling around with the editing and you will always improve. As I try to do with each video, always learning new stuff.
And I have the same problem as you. I have almost no spare time so there is either EVE or making a video.
This video I made in like 5 hrs I think.

Question, btw, you mention that you had a soundtrack already ready. What kind of programs do you use for it?
I usually go with Adobe Audition but with this movie I was lazy and did all audio mixing directly in Adobe Premiere.

I love the disclaimer in the end :p
Well you have to guard youself against any possible little thing that could spark and start a flame.
The reason I put that there is because that Megathron engagement actually happende before the large fight. But in order to get a better movie as a whole I put that event after the big fight.
I knew if I didn't prepare myself the people that were there might catch that and have a ignition-point for flame.

How did you blend the early shots in with the map in the background and the frigate flying in the forefront? (which software).
Adobe Premiere Pro (v7) and I did just that, blended the clips. The logos is also done in Premiere with the 3'rd party effect "Shine".

It's cool man, but I knew what it was about. I just always know that Leafo makes the best vid's in Eve. Talent is talent, no matter what side of the battlefield your on.
And Leafo, it was even better than I expected! How are you getting those captures at such high frame rates? Not Fraps but a capture card?

Notferr: I think its a combination of good hardware and a secondary scratch disk for Fraps. I know he had some issues before but then it was decided that a new disk should be installed and used only for Fraps.
Regards, LOWA - gonna look at it again...just to get me in da mood!
Oh! Yeah! Huh! MC - Going funky all over your clone baby! |
