.....you can't be serious?
Is this going to a max for all ships or just tech 3 ships? I hope it's just the tech 3 ships...

As I hear things, it's a limit, like how you can't get a lock on stuff further than 250km away.
at the moment with modules and rigs, you can have a theoretical drone control range of say 300km, but if the drones engaged something at that distance, as soon as they get to 250km, they disconnect.
so now they won't engage stuff thats more than 250km away.
Or so I hear.

Edited by: Matt G on 15/02/2009 03:36:36 Yes, very nice. Now, I think about this a second time...level 4 missions...gonna take way too long to get to the wrecks for salvage. Not too excited about it but sounds like a nice addition.
Next thing needed...Tractor beams at 40km!

Not true, you need good skills and these items to even get close to 250km.

Ok, just so people aren't misunderstanding this, this change doesn't mean you automatically can control drones out to 250km. It means, that through skills, modules, rigs, and ship bonuses, you can control drones *UP TO* 250 km. You're still limited to whatever control range your skills, modules, rigs, and ship bonuses provide. |

That's the way I took it, as in fittings. Please don't assume. |

Was just clarifying just in case someone read the thread and didn't grok what was implied by this thread. Wasn't naming names or anything. I find it's always better to clearly describe things so there's less chance of misinterpretation. ---

I tested this with a mate of mine. You can only make the drones aggress within the distance that skill + ship bonii + drone modules give you.
Once you have them aggressed on something, you can burn out (fly away) up to 250km away from them before losing control over them. So it is indeed only a hardlimit, tested and confirmed.

OK, that sounds better :).
Understud it as you have 250km without any skills/mods ;)
