According to CCP the creator of this thread had a sick child and that is why she was not here for PR. I have no problem with that. Children first. Do you not have a ****ing second in command for this type of thing? Are your internal communications and corp relations REALLY that horrible that you have no other means to communicate with the community?
I really love this game, I do. I even don't have a problem with most of the Incarna **** - I like walking in stations, I like sitting on my fake couch, i like these simple BS things and your plans for them. I do not like paying a monthly sub for a game and then being overwhelmed by those with more RL money than I - your failure to deal with the Russians and their bull**** ****ed me off enough. This will make your game no more than a Facebook application.

Where they could rip out all the junk the bankers put in and make CCP back into a company that can maintain it's product.

After reading 320 pages, I have to admit, I agree. Wait what? Ummm, yeah, don't screw us over CCP. MT 4TL. Leave the market the way it is, free, and controlled only by the players with in game effort. "Paying for convenience" is impossible without inconveniencing everyone else.
PLEXs are an excellent way for people to buy isk with real money while other players benefit, any other sort of micro-transaction would complicate the system and cause unforeseen issues with the market. Currently every subscription is paid for with real money, it's just a question of how many other people's accounts someone is paying for buy buying and selling PLEXs, buying actual items, even cosmetic, with real money is bypassing the market as we know it completely.
And don't even get me started on the possibility to buy skillpoints, or skillpoint boosts, with real money, that better have been nothing more than a thought.
Also I dislike the captains quarters currently. There needs to be a way to choose between the CQ and the old system. Not some sort of wallpaper, the actual old system. With ship spinning and all!
In all my time playing MMOs I've seen the fanbase threaten to quit a game because of changes or proposed changes, but this is the first time I've actually seen it done. I've lost corpmates who are simply protesting you CCP. Stop this nonsense and become the company that everyone has praised for so long once again.
I hope this actually get's read...

Dude, soundwave put one article in a 10 page newsletter. It really wasn't that bad and he even said he was of the mind that this would never get implemented because player opinion is so against it.
I have more of an issue with some of the other author's views in that newsletter regarding EVE, but Soundwave is not the cause of this ****, and he's been an awesome person, ESPECIALLY for player request features (cough team BFF and the Thousand Papercuts Project).
If you're going to blame anything, you really should protest the company as a whole, Soundwave is not the senior producer nor is he the lead game designer, those are the people you should be getting riled up about for change.

Yeah, he thinks that, and he'd get hung. I would assume a reasonable and logical person would then go, gee I have this opinion, but everyone hates that view, therefore I'm not going to bother. Soundwave really doesn't strike me as the kind of person to go, "**** the customers, my opinion is more important" he was hired after being a player. And his **** is comparatively lightweight compared to the other authors in that newsletter. And again, Soundwave, not the person I'd be burning cardboard effigies of.

from p49 of this thread ...
Originally by: Jade Constantine Hello there Pann, nice to hear from you again. And first off IÆd like to say thank you for being the first one to step in front of the barricades in attempt to speak to the rioting masses of players.
I do think itÆs vitally important that CCP is prepared to listen, because this scandal over microtransactions is probably the most potentially-damaging scandal CCP have ever faced in a fiasco that easily eclipses T20, "Kieron" and ô18 monthsö without breaking sweat. The credibility of the game is at risk here unless we put the doubt and distrust to bed.
To my perspective here are the main issues:
1. CQ being mandatory in its current poorly-optimized state is a terrible development/business decision. It looks like its been pushed onto the user base purely as a microtransaction vanity display case at the cost of usability and function. This is particularly annoying to those players who already support CCP with multiple accounts and is infuriating given the repeated attempts to bug-report and alter CCPÆs decision in this regard during the SISI beta test.
Put simply, itÆs very disappointing that you have removed a functional and much beloved hanger view and replaced it with a resource-intensive CQ mode that does not work efficiency for multiple clients or for lower-spec computers.
Even providing the option not to load the CQ environment with this ugly wallpaper stripped of previous hanger-view functionality is extremely disrespectful to the Eve player base û IÆd like to hear Eve developers admit this was a mistake and commit to restoring the previous hanger view and adding ôdisembark from capsuleö as an optional trigger to launch CQ as soon as possible.
CQ view should not be mandatory and it is simply poor business decision-making to punish sections of the existing user base in the way you have done with this Incarna release. "Expansions" should never mess with existing game-play mechanics whatever the marketing department tell you they want to see.
2. I personally do not like the Aurum concept. I donÆt like the Noble store. I donÆt like Microtransactions in a pay to play subscription-based game. I donÆt like the way that the Eve player base is being robbed of the ability to manufacture avatar clothing for Incarna, I donÆt like the way the sandbox is being messed with, I donÆt like the pricing or corporate message coming out of CCP on the issue, and worse yet, I think it risks turning Incarna into a pointless vanity store writ large. I hear CCP Manifest telling us that ôAurum is here to stayö and I donÆt like the arrogance implied by that statement. It speaks of dogmatic adherence to a pet policy, it speaks of devotion to a business model that doesnÆt belong in Eve, it represents something that works in Free to Play games but isnÆt at all appropriate in a fairly expensive subscription model where a significant number of your players run multiple accounts...
I honestly think at this stage ditching the Noble store as a bad idea and putting the vanity clothing goods into bpos on the market for players to build and sell would be your best possible way out of this mess at maximum PR gain and goodwill from the community.
3. I am deeply concerned that we are paying CCP employees with our subscription money to develop game content that is not going to be provided to us in reciprocal exchange and will instead be ôdouble-chargedö through microtransactions. This strikes me as simple greed and fleecing your customer base and while it certainly works for ôGorden Geckoö it is not a sustainable model for Eve Online.
You need to impress upon the CCP management that the players of this game are not stupid û we see a Monocle and we know that our subscription money has paid for its development, trying to sell that thing back to us f... is a slap in the face

The main problem here is not simply the high cost of goods in the Noble Market, the problem is the kind of goods that will be sold in the Noble Market.
The people of Eve don't want it to become a "Pay to Win" game, if the items in the market effect gameplay then it will be another cost to buy the items to keep up with those that can afford them. This, on top of the subscription makes it very expensive.
Nobody cares if the goods being sold are for vanity only. What is going to hurt the amount of subscriptions are the game-altering Noble Market items. The best thing you could ever do to chop the head off of our sandbox is to introduce Noble Market items that effect gameplay in any way. (Standings, items, anything other than cosemetics)
Bottom line, keep vanity-only, keep Eve.

The fire's inside us tonight These bridges will burn so bright Tomorrow there's no life No more power's chains
Reaching for the life beyond We will rise to the dark again Ready to fight for what we believe to be right Yesterday is dead and gone
Breaking the chains Shaking the cage
Heed our war cry Let there be no doubt We walked out This is reckoning time
We are standing in the flames Reaching for the sky Fight to the end Yesterday is dead and gone
Under a blood red sky Our voice will be heard In a world
Where compassion is lost You try to control us This is so absurd Freedom will be won at any cost
Breaking the chains Shaking the cage
Heed our war cry Let there be no doubt We walked out This is reckoning time
We are standing in the flames Reaching for the sky Fight to the end Yesterday is dead and gone...
...Yesterday is dead and gone...

Eve is becoming seriously broke, it's not like you can play eve well on one account. I certainly can't afford a SLI video setup. Before the patch I could run poorly 3 account's. Now i can be bothered to even try.
CC makes me feel ill and motion sick due to its pov and weird motion. pay to win is final straw. TBH this game has been driven by factors other than the player base for a long time.
I deleted 2 to 3 paragraphs as i might as well talk to myself in the mirror for all the good it does -3 accounts...

Think its a bit too late for me, have 3 subs that will be all discontinued and liquidated by july 13th. After waiting a good number of years for the walking in stations to left what the absolute mess you've brought this week, you shouldn't have even called in captains quaters for a start anyway, when you only released one out the 4, what kind of LOL do you really take the player base for? seriously? this build is BARELY any different from the one that was introduced all the way back in march! the shadows on the faces are still borked, extremely low texture quality on all ships, animation is a joke, and the god awfull camera angle is a damn joke! its not mass effect, this is eve-online!
I wont go into the whole AUR thing because its simply quite obvious where you are heading with that total fiasco, and to be honest, lost a long term player because of it, even just the introduction of a 2nd currency where the game simply DOES NOT NEED IT was enough for me on a personal level.
You wanted new players to join the game with this mess, well, you'll definitely be getting that, at the expence of the "current" player base you have now, in 12 months time the player base you'll have would have a done a complete 180 on you, and the type of players that play eve will NOT be the type of players that have been supporting you for the past 8 years, It'll REALLY be interesting to see in next years fanfest if you actually do hold onto your supposed 400k subscriber number.
Too many changes and unless you completely trash the AUR currency, i seriously dont see how ccp can hold onto all subs at this stage. Dont really feel like playing CCP politics anymore and pay extra money to keep dust 514 a float because it looses the playerbase after 6 months from release because it'll only be released on PS3 and not on PC which is where it should have gone in the first place.
You turned what was potentially something that could have been absolutely stunning with amazing features that could have been acomplished with the ability of stepping out of the ship and totally trashed the ENTIRE CONCEPT!!! The WiS is ruined because of some serious lack of judgement and wanting to be iceland's number 1 money making company in the country, I cannot with good conscious support this madness anymore, and the absolute constant punishment of peoples initiative for inventive setups. Why doesn't CCP stop dancing around and just do what they already mean to.
Implement a store attached to account management. Allow people you use the credit card they have attached to their accounts to buy skill points, faction goodies, virtual clothing, ISK, standing, any anything else. Get rid of PLEX because that is just an unnecessary middle transaction in the real intent of things - which is a direct line to the wallets of players above and beyond the multiple account subscriptions people already pay for.
By the way, since CCP is going to do all of thise for our convenience anyway, why don't you start selling some convenience items I can buy with my VISA like shutting down the current soverenity in systems, buying a nuke that can wipe out an entire player fleet in one shot, maybe even some special ammo that can penetrate POS shields and destroy the structures directly. Hey, how about something really cool like the ability to make a player not be able to respawn to their clone for half an hour. I mean come on, you want to let me pay for convenience, so let's start talking about stuff worth running up my credit card bill for.

It amazes me that in the Fearless newsletter they talk about development and the more money they have they can develop better things and that MT's would help the development costs of new and better things.
Let me just start by saying, whoever the project manager was for the Walking in Stations and Moving Turrets really needs to get canned if that is what you're worried about!
Both provide absolutely NO additional experience to the game. As a matter of fact, the game's functionality has been reduced on the front end. Now you'll DEFINITELY need that additional back-end multi-threading to run all those movable turrets...
Personally, I could give a rats fart about moving around in the station. Graphically it's a resource hog and if you're doing fleet battles galore, high gfx settings really don't help a big fight at all. So, there's a mass of development conflict going on right there.
The moving turrets... really? Seriously? How many development hours were spent on moving turrets? Who really spends their time missioning/pvping zoomed in to their ship to notice a god!@#$ turret spinning around?!?! Really...?? This really makes me think that none of CCP's project development staff actually plays the game. Do you guys know what a Cerberus is? Do you know what the term Carebear stands for?
Simply put, if CCP starts selling ANYTHING that is not a vanity item, and it gives players an advantage in the game, I will quit both my accounts. I'm a paying customer, I don't plex my accounts, I play on occasion. For CCP to introduce game changers as a purchasable item in game is asinine. I busted my ass to get my faction standing to 10 with Cal Navy. In the future some well to do guy can just buy it?
This game is taking a turn for the worse and I will not pay to see it go even further down the Sh!tter. Drakes ROCK! |

^ Just admit it and continue on with this game as P2W. This half-assed approach is disconcerting, but I think that's what they are aiming for. Bring in a P2W crowd while still milking a few bucks from people who actually loved this game for it's uniqueness.
