Ya but again the Russian version looks better (or at-least to me)
It could be just me but in my opinion the Russian copied versions look better then there "western" counterparts. Anyway did you know they even copped the space shuttle? Buran |

My Paycheck from work is cashed at a branch office of the bank they are drawn from. I don't have a checkbook, no Bank account, no Credit Cards, etc, it's just strictly Cash only. Whenever I happen to need the services of a Credit Card, like paying for my Eve Online account, I just use a Visa Debit Card which is pre-loaded before use. Other than that, it's strictly Cash only.
Why?

Why? Just ask Leo GetzDMC First thing I did today, after talking to the bank and canceling the compromised card, was hit an ATM and get some cash. I now need to go through the list of local places and try to narrow down where this could be happening from.
The card normally isn't out of my possession. It isn't RFID enabled. I can only think of two, maybe three, places where this is being compromised from and one of those is seriously unlikely. |

A lot of truth here.
From the other side of the looking glass folks, the banks just do not care about credit card theft, if dealing with claims costs less than a more secure system, they just wont implement it.
Skimmers are becoming more high tech, my personal information is about 6 years out of date, but banks are not going to run around crazy over a few hundred dollars. Now, I dont know how US banks operate, but in the UK and EU there are premium accounts. These are only offered to clients who earn in excess of -ú100k after taxes, in addition there are levels of premium-ness though thats kept behind the counter. At my old workplace there were several levels going from 1 star premium to 5 stars for super rich clients. They come with greater security and make skimming less likely. Also in the event of skimming, they reverse the charge pretty quickly and contact the serious fraud office on your behalf, as youre dealing with big money.
For an example for our US friends, this would be like Citi contacting the FBI if you get scammed. As always, the richer you are, the better the treatment you will receive. It sucks, but thats the way of the world. Banks make a hell of a lot off richer clients than they do ones who make less money per capita, and therefore just dont spend enough manpower on it.
I generally only use my cards for big purchases, otherwise its cash all the way. For two reasons; 1, card safety, 2 Japan really hates credit cards. "I think you should buy a new Mayan calendar. Mine has muscle cars on it." --áKenneth O'Hara
