Actually, eve is free to play. As long as you have/make enough isk to buy a plex a month. I suspect that if it wasn't for this mechanism, subscriber nuMbers would be a fair bit lower.

Yup, there is certainly some sort of issue there. It is only intermittent but then that's almost worse. The inconsistency is really annoying and has pretty much stopped me using decent pods in pvp because i'm just not sure how it's supposed to be ...

I can only imagine you come from some sort of parallel dimension where the turret effects have been made worse instead of much better... No accounting for taste I guess. Personally, I think the new effects are superior in every way to the old.
